ART IS NOT FOR SALE

Hi everyone,

It's no secret that Youtube actively demonetizes and at times shadow bans and age restricts our videos. It’s also no secret that we used to take sponsorships to bypass that. Still, as we continue to expand our project into bigger and better avenues, we need the freedom to create more transparency with our audience. And we simply won’t let anyone stop the vital work we are doing here.

This is why we decided to no longer take sponsorships from third-party companies. Our aim is to become completely fan-funded. This will make it possible to drastically expand the type of projects we undertake, and we are quite proud of what we have planned as the next step for this channel. But this will only be possible with your support.

As a token of appreciation for your support, we will deliver more unique and exclusive material here on Patreon regularly on an ALL-INCLUSIVE basis. Today we begin with an introduction to the study of cinema; to start we are launching a curated and annotated catalogue of over 40 films before the year 1930 (ready here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/film-studies-pre-85879979), which we believe are the fundamental films to broaden your understanding of the medium. This month we also have an exclusive video on Composition scheduled to drop.

We have masterclasses, tutorials, exclusive essays, conversations, deep-dives, behind the scenes, events and more planned for the upcoming months.

Thanks for your support.

Yours sincerely,

Lewis & Luiza

Please turn on the captions and they will appear. It’s a cool new feature!

Hey, can you post the list of movies that are mentioned in this video? Would be accessible for trying to find where to watch them

You guys have outdone yourselves on this one! As a filmmaker, this hit hard emotionally in all the right places. I'm currently feeling the crisis around me and on my current feature project. Thanks for including the Chilean artists from the Wolf House- one of my favorites since catching it at the Film Forum in NYC a few years ago ( apparently Ari Aster discovered them the same way)

Loved your videos for a while and have been fortunate enough to discover many films i otherwise would not have. This video convinced me to sign up to your Patreon. Looking forward to diving into more of your work! xx
