Mentorship Lesson 1: Automatic Writing
Added 2020-07-10 17:16:35 +0000 UTC
Hi everyone,
We are excited to announce we are launching today our Mentorship program exclusive to patrons. All patrons will be eligible. This means that every month we will have proposed activities with the objective of helping you improve your creative output and promote your individuation as an artist, writer, or filmmaker.
As we mentioned before, this is a rare opportunity to take input from us, so embrace it wholeheartedly.
Every month we are going to focus on one topic, present it through a video just like this one and propose one or a set of activities. By the end of the month, we will have a conversation about the results of the activities during the podcast, we will also send participants a small commentary.
During July we are exploring the topic of Automatic Writing during Lesson 1. In the audio above you will find all information you need. Your assignment + curated portfolio should be sent to us by 26 July to participate.
We will also allow participants to send us a small sample of their work: a small portfolio, sample writings, demo reel, short films, samples of music, etc. Please curate your work before submitting it to us and send us a small resume and/or artist statement (when applied). This work won’t be commented on during the podcast, but we will send a small commentary on private e-mail.
We hope this is the start of an excellent experience for all of us, but we acknowledge that certain “ground rules” should be established to benefit everyone:
- Every patron is welcomed to participate, but participation is not mandatory. So don’t feel pressured if you cannot do a project or simply don’t want to participate in it all together.
- If you don’t want to do one activity, that doesn’t mean you cannot do the upcoming ones. That being said, we are going to take deadlines seriously, so pay attention to the cut-out dates for all activities. This will help us have enough time to engage with all participants in the best way possible.
- Everything (artwork, scripts, videos, films, podcasts, essays, e-mails, commentary, conversations, masterclasses and etc) shared here on Patreon.com/cinemacartography is confidential between patrons and The Cinema Cartography. This is very important to protect our work, but also patrons submitted work. Members that don’t respect this guideline will be banned from The Cinema Cartography Patreon.
- By submitting your work you will be subjected to our honest opinion and commentary. Don’t be scared, we have one guideline: all critique should be grounded in real constructive input. That being said, don’t participate if you’re not open to listening.
- We won’t accept full screenplays, feature films, the full body of work, and work containing illegal material.
- All work presented to us must be owned by the patron.
- We are not going to promote anything about your work on our Youtube channel and website.
- This is a strictly professional relationship, so please respect our privacy and the privacy of other patrons.
- Only patron current members will have their work accessed by us. Don’t share the content of the activities with non-members and respect the guidelines.
All July submissions should be sent to contact@thecinemacartography.com with the subject [JULY MENTORSHIP - YOUR NAME (as it is on Patreon membership)] or through private message on Patreon.
The cut-out date will be on 26 July.
See you next time!
