About the Perfect Blue Patreoncast Episode

Hi everyone,

How's everyone doing?

We are scheduled to record the Patreoncast Audience Choice episode about Kon's ''Perfect Blue'' (1997) on the end of this week, so use this post to let us know some of your comments and/or questions about the film (if any) or any specific aspect you would like to highlight to us. We would love to insert your opinion on the Podcast...

Please submit your questions/comments on this post or privately through contact@thecinemacartography.com with the subject: "Perfect Blue" until the end of Wednesday, 20 May to be featured on the episode.

Kind Regards :)

I'd love to know about directors similar to Kon and how he/if he changed anime in any way for Japan--his legacy in future animators too. Sure there's people like Imaishi and Rintaro or even Tachikawaya but its hard to find stuff as mature and interesting as Kon out there. Thanks!

Perhaps you already plan to discuss it, but something I don't often see in discussions of the film is what Kon actually brought to the story. To my knowledge, like Kubrick did to The Shining, he took a story and found his own way into it to make it sing with his voice. I'd love to hear your thoughts on his adaptation of the original material.
