BTW Yeo Siew Hua's "A Land Imagined" is an interesting descendant to the Noir while still asserting itself in the contemporary political/geographical/technological world. Some call it a "dream noir" a la Lynch, Park Chan-Wook, Bi Gan or Nicolas Winding Refn!
