Added 2024-12-25 10:15:35 +0000 UTCIn January 2024, a small group of Neo Nazis marched through the streets of Yerevan. The group calls themselves Hosank. They couch their beliefs in Armenian history, using Armenian symbols and terminology. But, the message they are delivering isn't Armenian at all.
Hosank's leader, Hayk Nazarian is from California, and he has imported the very online, 4chan brain-poisoned brand of Far Right Extremism into a very much not online country, unprepared with how to deal with it.

VOMA is a mostly volunteer run organization, which has been training territorial self-defense units across Armenia, and preparing teenagers and adults alike for firearm use. Sometimes when men get conscripted, they admit that VOMA training has prepared them, or even served as a more effective alternative. Of course VOMA is not up to NATO standards, and have things like knife throwing as well. But that doesn't mean they deserve wholesale ridicule. They offer RPG training, FPV Drone training using simulations, and mortar training as well. They have also been building mini-bunkers (GMBET-2). Yes they are crude and cheaply made, but this has been crowdfunded by desperate mainlanders and diasporans. These bunkers were even used and staffed during training exercises by the Armenian Army back in 2023. Joe, please keep your criticism constructive, not derogatory. Armenia does not have any assurances of survival, and I've been donating to VOMA. I really hope you can help instead of obstructing.
