Re POB larping: there was quite a fun documentary in the early 00s where a volunteer crew sailed a replica of Cook’s ship around Australia. Not sure how it would cope nowadays; postcolonialism had yet fo penetrate history programming. Babs Windsor steamed puddings, a guy getting airlifted with dvt and a bigly reality tv ihspo porn moment with someone overcoming vertigo to get rated as a topper/topman spring to mind. I think it went by the staggeringly differentiated “the ship”, which should make it a doddle to find.

If you say White Monster into a podcast 3 times, a bisexual expat appears and produces the show for you

Noblesse Oblahaj

As an emissary of the lawn chair crisis podcast (our audio quality is shit, don't listen). I will record a dispatch of the cactus cooler cavalry.

I work as a part time remover in Canberra. My latest job was to move the Argentina Embassy to the next building. It was just office with a glass door. First thing is a World map but as the map was not printed in Argentina the two of name groups of island named was white outed. We moved them to another office that share a floor with Embassy of Guatemala and TF favourite people McKinsey and Company. Also the elevator in the new building was too small for tall shelf’s we have carried them by the fire stairs

Mackenzie Toscan

Selfishly, come back to Kentucky Joe. We miss you. Not Fort Knox though.

Sam Butler

Hope you guys do a live show in the US. I’d go as far as I possibly can to make it

Sam Butler

A couple weeks ago I said I’d love for you to do an episode on John Paul Jones, and hearing you mention the USS Providence’s raid on Nassau was DELIGHTFUL and gave me hope that a JPJ episode might be coming sometime down the line! I work on a sailing replica of the Providence and get to hear (and/or tell tourists) that story every weekend. 😅

Paloma Alcala

These jersey accents are so bad you guys should be tried for war crimes

Samuel Wohlforth

If you would consider future guests Roman historian Emma Southon is a cracker. Irreverent and funny and just great human.

Both of you discussing 2008 financial crisis is how I learned Tom's my age and I'm surprised, but I have no idea if I thought he'd be much older or much younger.

Alexandria London

Accordions probably hadn't been invented yet, they're generally considered to have been invented in the early 1800s, with polka and it's derivatives showing up a few decades later.

Gods, please write “The Soda Wars” audio drama. 😂

Michael Salandrea

Writing from Washington Crossing, PA. Come see a reenactment of the crossing...kinda neat!

LoveTheBeach

Civil war would be between “soda” and “pop” regions.

Mel S

I wanna hear the Soda Wars Chronicles.

Sean Casselman

If you do the soda wars, I really want to write some letters from a wife back home character. Sort of like we all did at the beginning of Covid.

Loquin Britton-Herndon

I NEED the Soda Wars

Cathal Nolan

I'm picturing the Soda Wars like a Sasauge party version of actual cans of sodas at war 🤣

Brode Bullington

If it wasn’t 41 degrees Celsius where I was today I would kill to bury myself in a pile of proper Georgian khachapuri….and just slowly clog my arteries with cheese and bread. But if you really want the good heart plaque you want plov. Yum!

If you've played The Witcher: 3, you've been to that place named Velen - a darkly-forested badland sandwiched between two major cities. Yeah, that was basically New Jersey during the War of Independence. The war in NJ took on a bitterly sectarian character, with towns being razed to the ground (Port Republic) and multiple massacres and reprisals traded between Loyalist irregulars and Patriot militias. The south of the state in particular had a large loyalist population and when they lost those who didn't flee to Canada took to the deep Pine Barrens, where their descendants live today. It was the state most devestated by the conflict and my theory is that THIS was the start of the "NJ is a shithole" meme.

Juggalo Cavalry had me dying. Please Joe, id donate to that project specifically

Marcelo Marta

Ulster Protestants do not like Irish Americans in my experience. I made a similar mistake to Joe and wore a GAA top in the wrong neighborhood in Derry. Luckily my Airbnb host wasn’t a sectarian bastard and said I should be careful where I wear it. I also had people stop and ask me my religion when they saw or heard my name in the north. And also some people stop speaking to me.

Soda wars: clearly set off by Hong Christ's second coming at Salt Lake City. Has declared Soda to be the one true drink. Clearly a corn-syrup v cane sugar thing happens

Gilded Dragon

I want the soda wars so bad

Fun fact: Hunter x Hunter is back publishing! The latest volume was released in September and they are producing chapters monthly last I checked.

Jonathan Reiter

I spent a summer working at a park called "the black rock forest" in upstate new York. The main park road was called The Continental Road because it was built by the Continental Army. The park also borders west point, who sometimes set the forest on fire by accident and pay them out of apology.

Matt

How many patreon subscribers before we can get Joe to do a full episode that is just an entire hour of unhinged intro narration?

Thomas Layton

Oh man, the “Soda Wars” that would be hilarious!

I_like_planes_and_cities

These intro stories be getting more creative and hella wild. 😂 at least Tom didn’t die in this one. I half expected Georgie to gift Tom a white monster for his fervent hatred of the British as well at the end.

William Shackelford

This episode explains why the English hates small boat crossings so much. Also the battle took place on my birthday, so that's nice 😊

Knut Nicholas Figenschou

I van just imagine the machete action. Though Robert is just as likely to take too many gas station drugs and drive it on a destructive rampage across manicured lawns. He's wanted an armoured vehicle for years.

LeobaL

The InfoWars truck is described as a “Terradyne armored vehicle”. And yes, buy it, wrap it, and give it to Robert Evans to destroy it in all possible ways at hand. And stream it to make money off of it.
