The two most memorable things were 1) the lead singer wearing a pink bunny onesie when it was 36C outside, and 2) despite having mainstage at 4pm there were only like two dozen people in the crowd at a fest with thousands.

That's in Suetonius so make of it what you will. The legend of Canute and commanding the tide is one that often gets mistold. The original story comes from 12CE, by Hugh of Huntingdon (not sure about the name) and was supposed to demonstrate Canute's piety and wisdom. In this original version, one of Canute's courtiers, trying to curry favour, claimed Canute was so powerful he could command the waves. Canute took exception to this and immediately went to the sea to prove he couldn't. I don't remember what happened to the courtier, if anything, but presumably he never said anything to Canute again. But over time Huntingdon's story got misquoted and it became Canute trying to control the waves.
