Today, I want to introduce you about how I always make drawings.

I think there is a lack of Syota-Ryona contents, especially gut-punching, so I want you to be interested in drawing by reading this article and make some Syota-Ryona drawing!

So, the following is my way of drawing.

1. Raise your motivation

First of all, you should search for your favorite gut-punching content from whatever you like such as manga or YouTube video. Then you motivate yourself like “Oh, I want to make it more as I want. I want to remake it in my favorite style.”

As for me, I often raise my motivation by watching YouTube videos these days.

For example, like this one. (Take care about its sound volume!)

In my opinion, searching in the Russian language is useful to find such a kind of video.

If you search in Japanese, I recommend Karate videos because kids often get knocked out by body blows in Karate matches.

Imagine that you become to want to draw a picture of “spinning-back-kick” by watching the video. I actually did. Then go to the second part.

2. Make models of your drawing

So, you decided to make a drawing of spinning-back-kick. Then, I’ll talk about how to draw it. I think great drawers can draw without models, but I can’t, so I need to prepare them. In my case, I make my drawing model by “1. I myself make a pose and take a picture of it by smartphone” or “2. Using a drawing doll”. I used to often draw with No.1, but it has some limitations about points of view, for example, it’s difficult to take a picture from a bird’s-eye view. So I bought a doll for drawing one month ago.

The doll is called “Body-Kun”, made by a company called S.H.Figuarts, and it cost me about 4,000 yen on Amazon Japan.

Using this, make a pose of “attacker” and “receiver”. If you have two dolls, you can take a picture of them at one time. Anyway, I have only one doll, so I take a picture one by one.

After taking pictures, start drawing based on them.

3. Draw with pictures

I draw with my PC(software: Clip Studio Paint Pro), so I’ll talk about digital-drawing. Looking at the picture I took, draw it on my PC. It’s convenient if you draw the attacker and the receiver on different layers because you can adjust their position easily. The doll is not figured like a kid, so you have to draw it looking like a low-teen boy by drawing its head bigger, arms and feet shorter, body thinner, and so on.

Also, I take the model-pictures one by one, their positions often turn out to be unnatural after drawing a draft. In this case, the kicked point of the receiver is lower than I wanted to draw, so I make his body looking like “く” of Japanese letter, and make it more natural. Erase, draw, erase, draw…..rectify like that.

And then, I make it more clear, paint their hairs black, and add some effects.

This is the finished drawing.

Um…Yes, I’m so sure I like boys who get gut-punching or kicking.
