Draft of the message I will send to beta testers.

Hey guys!

So, it’s hard to say if I’m going to continue or not doing this, the thing is however, I don’t like these last months of the year, so my thoughts might get either clouded or dim.

Regardless of that, I decided to sit down and write the draft I plan to send the beta testers because, while I cannot make a solid decision during these times, at least I can do some stuff to get things going instead of begin to thinking once this hell of a year is over.

So, with that said, here’s the draft I plan to send to the beta testers.

Start of the message.

Hello [tester]!

I’m currently looking for beta testers for the models I plan to build. These models are free of costs and no user will ever have to pay any sort of money for them, however, just because there is no money in front, it doesn’t mean I’m going to build half done models, I want to build fully working models, and for that to work, I need the support from people like you: people willing to give the models a spin before release.

Perks of the beta testing.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any perks for it. The only thing I can give you, is the model to test before releasing it to the public.

Although, if you ever decide to create content with that model during the beta testing, you are free to do so, and also, you are free to make it pubic in any platform you want, however, I will need two things in exchange, a little bit of that later, first, let’s talk about the process you will do.

Testing process.

After sometime, I will send you an archive with some contents.

Within those contents, you will find a “Features” file, which contains all the features of the model, as well as the Outfit Loader items and the Known Issues… it will be something like the release posts of here. I will ask you to please read them, because, as I mentioned, they contain the Known Issues. By reading them, you will be aware of the already known limitations of the model, so you don’t end up reporting a “bug” that is actually a Known Issue.

Between those contents, there is the model in a Release Candidate state, such state roughly means this is supposed to work as intended.

Your work as a beta tester is exactly that: test the model however you see fit.

I am aware that at times, I will build a model you might be interested on, so you instead of just testing, you are going to begin to create content right away. That is fine, that is a form of testing: creating content allows you to test the model in situations you want to.

I am also aware that there will be times I will build a model you won’t be interested at all, and you it might be difficult for you to figure out how to test it “after you have already tested another by creating content.”

Don’t worry about it. All sorts of testing works: Regular posing, complex posing, a “test” pose you may have to test models, or even content. It doesn’t matter: all sorts of tests are always welcome.

You will also receive a link to a Form. Such form will only have the following contents:

- Your creator name.

- If you feel the model is ready for release or not.

- A text area to explain why not.

You will only say “No” if you find a bug or something is not behaving accordingly, or something that doesn’t fit into the “Known Issues” text. If you don’t find any issue or any bug on it, then you will select Yes.

I will ask you, please, fill the form as soon as possible. Don’t wait until the night of the 9thday to fill it, because if there is a bug to fix, I need to verify it, recreate it and fix it, otherwise it’s going to take a lot of time to release the model.

No model sharing.

The reason why I’m not making the model public as soon it is released, is because I want a group of people to test it before everyone. While I have no control if you do it, please do not share the models, not even with your friends. The reason is if the model is faulty, then you didn’t share a working model, you shared a faulty model, and instead of having a group of people letting me know about a bug, I’m going to have a bunch of people angry at me for “releasing an incomplete model.”

All models will get released once the beta testing stage is done, such stage will take 10 days. It's not a long time, so please, let's wait and let's instead release a fully working model.

About the content you create with beta testing models.

As I mentioned, there will be times instead of just testing the model, you may want to create content instead. That’s perfectly fine:

- If you create content with the model during the beta testing stages, it’s ok, it’s your content.

- If you want to make public the content you made during the beta testing stages, please do so, it is your content.

However, if you do that, please, please, I beg you, please, all I ask is whenever you publish your content, please mention that the model is in beta stages and that it is going to be released to the public soon, and once the model is released, please, please, make a post redirecting people where to download the model once it is released. Models are for everyone, that’s everything I ask for.

That’s all. Please let me know if you are interested in helping me for the beta testing.

End of message.

That’s the message guys!

Some of you might get them, some other will not. Keep in mind something very important though:

- If I don’t ask you, is not because I don’t think your content is worthy. I don’t like merit-based model sharing, that’s why the beta testing group will include people of all sorts of skill levels.

- If you are a close friend to me and you have supported me for a lot of time and I don’t ask you, don’t think it is because I don’t think we are close enough. I know a lot of people with a huge skill level, and I won’t ask them because that’s not the point. Even one of my close friends has became a model builder too, but I won’t ask him because he already has a lot on his plate working with horribly mistranslated shape keyed models :D

- Don’t send me messages and also, don’t link me your content just to prove that you could be a beta tester. It doesn’t work like that. Like I mentioned, this is not merit-based.

- The models, as mentioned, are going to be free for everyone. I want everyone to create content with them.

I think that’s all!

Let me know if you have something in mind. Think of it like ‘maybe I could be a beta tester… but I have this question’ so, if there’s something in your mind, you could ask! Help me to see the flaws I didn’t see!

I hope December ends soon, because it’s already 3 days, and it feels like a whole year on its own. Remember guys, just because it’s December, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t wash your hands because the water is cold! Wash your hands!
