Preparations for the SubSurf Practice Model

One post the next day :O! Sorcery :O!!!

Anyway, so before I wanted to make a couple of comments about the idea I just had, and no, I didn't had a "no balls" situation, I'm going in.

What I wanted to tell you however, is a couple of things I'm going to do because I want to make this model to look good. Now, here we go:

Face Rig

Unfortunate, but this model doesn't have any face bones, as expected from a Valve Model. For the first time in a very, very long time, I will trust my skills and instead of being all nervous about it, I will try my absolute best to have a nice face rig and if I can't do it, then that will be fine. I can still manually tune the flexes. I'm slightly concerned about the eyelids, since those have been the bane of my existence since I began learning face rig, but I will cross that bridge once I'm there.

Something worth mentioning though. The only thing I'm going to respect from Valve's item, is the Armature. More specifically, the head location. I think I need to match it so I can get a proper deformation even though the model is going to get rigged pretty much from scratch.

Cloth Rig

If I recall properly, this model has some sort of long stylish sleeves. I've made a point many posts before and I will keep it: long sleeves only mean pose nightmares. That kind of cloth won't get any change. However, if I still recall properly, that model also has a cape. Now that is going to be interesting.

Expect a "Phantasy" figure.

As I mentioned, SubSurf makes things look amazing in chest and buttocks, but also in abs. I'm 100% sure the base model does not look like how I imagine it, but how I imagine it however, she has a nice set of abs, so you can expect that.

Note: I just noticed, but that phantasy thing is an unintended pun. You will see what I mean.

Test a new method for butt bones.

So far I haven't heard a single complaint about the butt bones on my models. I, personally, am very satisfied with them, as the method I used proves it works pretty good. There's a small issue though: veeeeery little parts of one cheek interacts with the other.

This is not bad per se, because that makes underwear bodygroups behave a little more normally.

Still, I want to keep those kind of interactions to a minimum, so when I was testing a method to make this whole "SubSurf into Regular" a little more safe and faster, I also decided to give a try to another method to make butt weights. So far it worked pretty well, and an argument can be made that is also faster. A little more simple, but faster.

I have excitement over this model, honestly. I hope this doesn't become a Expectation vs Reality situation though, that would be a disaster lol

More stupid ideas.

I will not share them for now, but I have a few tests that I would like to try, and while not implement it, they might be useful for someone out there. But I will try to figure out a format or something.
