New Subscription Model?

Hello everyone. Those of you who support multiple devs may already know about this. For those who don't, Patreon introduced a new subscription model as of today. Currently, when you become a patron, you pay on the day you join, and then on the 1st of each month thereafter.

Under the new model, the date you join becomes your payment date. Permanently. So, if you become a patron today, September 26th, your next payment is on October 26th. Then November 26th, etc etc etc. This model is more consistent with how subscription services TYPICALLY work.

Switching from the current model to the new model is not required, but it is permanent. So I'm looking for feedback from all of you. I am content with either one, but as always, I want to do right by you. What are your thoughts on this? Feel free to add any comments along with your vote.

This is a public poll, to get the widest possible amount of feedback.

Thanks!

No. IF I made the change (And right now, it doesn't seem likely), anyone CURRENTLY subscribed remains on the current cycle, since you're already set to the first anyway. It only impacts any future pledges to make to people who have made the change.

Would this change be retroactive, or would current Patrons still get billed on the 1st? If it will only apply to new subs, I will have no opinion about it, otherwise, I'd just need a heads up that you've made the change.

It still aggregates if you just wait till the 1st like people do now anyway... the choice for clients would be nice...

Yeah, this seems like it de-aggregate fees, and thus a bigger chunk goes to payment processors. Best to stick with the current.

I prefer the existing model, only because it means Patreon is typically charging me once for all the creators I support, instead of a dozen smaller charges across the month. Honestly, I'm surprised Patreon even WANTS to do this - surely it means losing more money to fees from the credit card companies?

Do whatever you want... it won't matter that it's all over the place if you just sub at the beginning of a month like people do anyway to avoid being gouged by Patreon

ah i didnt know patreon had done this, i hate it. i like being able to know my patreon bill is coming on the first, i have alot of devs on mine them hitting all throughout the month would be a real pain
