It's Halloween and what better way to celebrate the spooky season than a spooky update of our own!
People who haven't been keeping up with the project too closely might be confused as to why this update took so long to come out since there wasn't a lot of actual writing being added to it comparatively but that's because Korichi offered to make a bunch of placeholder sprites for side characters in his free time. So I decided to push the build back as late into the month as I could to allow him more time to finish as much of them as possible.
As for what got added to the build itself, we finished up Leigh's latest day, which had left itself on a bit of a cliffhanger for the sake of time and I wasn't satisfied with it. The new content added wasn't very long compared to my usual update, even being a little bit smaller than my older updates would be (being around 10k) but I knew that I shouldn't try to cram in the Oscar update here as well, and end up in the same scenario again. So I decided to make this build focused on other things.
This update was mainly about new assets and going back and fixing a bunch of errors that had been reported to me over time. We added a CG to Oscar's route with another one on the way in his upcoming update, so Oscar fans get excited! We also added sprites for numerous side characters; two in Leigh's route, four in Oscar's route, and two in Lucas' route, with more coming on the horizon!
As I just mentioned, I spent much of this update fixing up previous mistakes reported to me. I managed to get through most of them (though if you reported one to me and it slipped through the cracks, please don't be afraid to re-report it so I can catch it this time). That doesn't mean I managed to catch every mistake but this hopefully fixed up lingering problems that have been around for way too long. However, there was one major issue that I still haven't gotten around to fixing, mostly because I didn't notice it until playtesting for this build and ran out of time, which was that I haven't fixed the sprite transition problems in Leigh's previous build. They will be fixed in the next update, I promise.
Overall, while this update wasn't exciting, it was very needed. I might even add a tiny bit more to this during Oscar's next build because I wasn't entirely happy with how it ended. I'll figure out if the two of them deserve a bit more together when they get back to their room that night.
