Violet Memoir Patreon Build 20

Hello! This might seem a little early to some of you if you haven't been keeping up with my dev logs but I've been trying to give myself a schedule that I want to stick to going forward.

As those dev logs mentioned, I'm trying to keep things in Violet Memoir within a reasonable scope, so this month's build is a little strange compared to my other builds.

Instead of focusing on a single build this time, this was more of a set-up for future builds. I want to try posting full-day updates going forward, so in order to do that I had to reach the end of each character's current day. So this update was just bringing each day to a close. So this might not seem like a very satisfying build, I will admit, but it felt necessary to get Violet Memoir into a more reasonable place to work from.

Like always, I'm open to feedback if you feel like some of these days ended prematurely. I know Leigh and Oscar's gives off the vibe that more should have happened but I'm trying to keep each day to a reasonable length (and Leigh's Friday already had way too much filler. It's a 30k day where it really should have only been a 20k day).

Going forward, I'm trying to tighten up my story's pace and my writing itself. Throughout the novel, I've wasted an exceeding amount of time describing my character's emotions to overcompensate for my lack of sprite expressions. I want to remedy that and, hopefully, get more expressions soon to help!

As for what's likely to come next? Most likely a Leigh or Oscar build but I'll have more information for you in the coming week.

Changelog:
- Approx. 7k to Leigh's Day 5
- Approx. 3k to Oscar's Day 5
- Approx. 3k to Lucas' Day 6

Binged several of your updates in a row since I haven't been checking for a while. Kudos for thinking ahead with your schedule for this project. There are a number of works I've followed over the years where it became pretty obvious that the whole thing would take a decade minimum to complete at the authors pace, and when that's the case things end up getting dropped more often than not. It sucks to have to settle with a creative endeavor but a finished project is almost always better than an unfinished one. Preplanning and storyboard consideration can go a long way can go a long way to preventing this kind of trouble, but hindsight is 20/20. But yeah, genuine and sincere thanks for being adult enough to address the issue and commit to a realistic path forward instead of ignoring it and dropping or ghosting when the burnout hits hard.
