Violet Memoir Roadmap
Added 2022-03-10 16:30:45 +0000 UTCI wanted to outline some of the plan going forwards with Violet Memoir in the coming months.
These next three Patreon builds (one for each character) will be a big shift in tone and give you a good idea of stuff to expect further down the line as the story progresses. Don't worry about the tone being entirely changed, it will only be temporary and there will still be lighthearted moments alongside some serious ones. This is still a story about Wallace and his friends (and his growing relationship between them), not just the mystery surrounding the diary.
March: This will be a Leigh build, it's currently ranging to be around 15k words but that number is from early draft and should be taken with a grain of salt.
April: This will be a Oscar Build. This one is currently ranging to be around 18k but I think some serious trimming will be needed. So this one is very up to adjustment.
May: This will be a Lucas Build and the last build before we go with whoever wins the current vote for which route to finish first. It's currently around 13k.
June: This will be the start of route focused builds as well as the beginning of entirely route exclusive storylines.
Some clarification on the route focused approach we're taking (which was voted on by patrons). Since there's a bit of worry regarding just ignoring other routes, I'll try to throw in some updates for other routes as we go along, maybe every couple of builds. There will be more elaboration in May or June regarding this.
There was a point where I was potentially considering splitting these builds in half but outside of Oscar's, they're just not long enough to justify that and it would be strange to do so for just Oscar (plus his needs some big trim). I was hoping to buy myself some time to write further ahead and I wanted to get more of Leigh (now Lucas' as he's winning the vote by a far bit) finished, potentially having the entire thing written. I'm currently trying to work myself a little overtime to get as far into Lucas' route as possible to have as much of his story finished as possible to make rewrites during editing easier.
