Voting Power Announcement
Added 2024-05-16 17:32:39 +0000 UTCStarting today, there will be some changes to the voting system in polls.
Namely, I've decided to introduce a weighted voting system, which will account for the voting power of certain tiers.
How will the voting power be distributed through the tiers?
β’ Silver Booty: x1 Voting Power
β’ Golden Booty: x2 Voting Power
β’ Crystal Booty: x5 Voting Power
The higher the tier you are a member of, the more voting power you receive. For example, a vote from a member of the Crystal Booty Tier will count for 5 instead of 1.
I ultimately think this system is better in the long run and offers another benefit for the higher tiers.
This change will take effect from the next poll onward, but let's just use the latest hairstyle poll as an example.
The final results won't immediately be evident from the Patreon polls because the platform doesn't support a weighted vote system yet. That's why I will be posting a graph of all the votes with voting power accounted for when the poll closes. Here, you will be able to clearly see the winning choice.

As you can see, the blue represents the number of votes for an option, and the red indicates the voting bonus. Add both of those together and you get the end result.
Apologies for the longer post, but I felt like I needed to add some clarity to this whole situation.
I will make up for it with the release of v0.2, which is on the horizon. π
