[Story Listing]

---

It had been about a month since Hannah the slime girl had confessed her love in front of Rebecca's locker.

As the pre-show advertisements blared throughout a (rather empty) movie theatre, two girls picked out cozy spots near the center of the theatre.

"Y'know Hannah, I... I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but... while I'm really happy you invited me out on a date, I didn't think you'd be the sort of girl that was into horror movies." Rebecca turned to Hannah.

"Ah? U-um... I-I guess that's a fair assumption to make..." Hannah prodded her fingers together, producing an anxious squishy sound.

Though Hannah's initial confession of love to Rebecca had to be the most nerve-wracking experience of her life, pitching to go on a date to see a scary movie was a close second. Hannah had her ulterior motives, though; Hannah read somewhere that bravery was a desirable trait, and horror movies had the tendency to rattle people enough for them to open up a little bit more. Plus, movie dates were part and parcel for early romantic dates... though Hannah was careful to keep her machinations to herself, lest Rebecca find out; she seemed human at a glance, but her psychic intuition was borderline unfair.

"You seem kinda tense, though." Rebecca pointed out. "You're shaking like pudding... you don't have a fever, do you?"

"N-no, I-" Hannah's objection rolled back down her throat as Rebecca leaned over to place the back of her hand against Hannah's forehead. It was slimy and cool to the touch; Hannah's cheeks flared up.

"Y-you don't have to worry, I... I'm excited." Hannah forced a modest smile. "To be here with... with you."

"Mm, okay. If you're sure." Rebecca drew her hand, turning to the screen. The previews were coming up...

---

Hannah had picked out a zombie movie for the two of them, and they were about thirty minutes into the movie. Even from the get-go, the situation was... desperate. A derelict hospital that had seen dead bodies piling up. The sight of dead bodies was especially spooky to Hannah, considering how one could up and move at any particular time.

The world is waiting for a cure to the pathogen. It's transmitted by bacterial infection, but it's evolving quickly, unnaturally so... if we don't act fast, the pathogen could become airborne, and there would be no hope left...

Hannah gawked at the screen, spellbound at the building tension and the rising stakes, the unsteady progressional chords of a poorly tuned violin. And it was unbearable when the camera panned to the unmoving cadaver along a table to the rear.

The camera panned to its still finger, and a harsh musical snare boomed in the auditorium as the finger twitched. Hannah gasped sharply, nearly jumping out of her seat.

Unbeknownst to her, a couple droplets of pink slime splattered in Rebecca's direction. Rebecca blinked, wondering if this movie theatre was installed with one of those quirky 4D effects to spray water. A quick examination with her finger of the viscous substance indicated quite the opposite. Her eyes silently drifted to Hannah's quivering form, the soft lights along the sides of the theatre shining through her translucent head and hair.

Hannah was getting really worked up over this movie. Sure, the pacing was deliberate to invoke a palpable sense of dread... and Hannah was already scared stiff—or, well, loose. Hannah was deathly quiet, deferent to the rules of the theatre, but Rebecca was psychically sensitive to Hannah's worried, cyclical thoughts. Look behind you look behind you he's getting up HE'S GETTING UP HE'S GOING TO EAT YOU!!

Rebecca lowered a hand onto Hannah's as they shared the same armrest, squeezing Hannah's soft, gelatinous flesh. Hannah tore her panicked eyes from the screen to turn to Rebecca, pausing to gaze into Rebecca's gentle eyes.

Hannah's shivering came to a stop as the dystopian universe the movie established faded into the background, Hannah losing herself in Rebecca's eyes, as well as her gentle, albeit worried smile. Rebecca nodded slightly.

"You sure you're okay?" Rebecca whispered.

"Y-yeah..." Hannah replied, her eyes lowering out of shyness. "I'm just... jumpy, sorry if I'm ruining-"

"Don't worry about it." Rebecca squeezed Hannah's hand. "You're kinda cute when you're acting so jumpy..."

Rebecca winked—Hannah felt her cheeks flushed as she tilted her head back up. Hannah let out a quiet sound akin to a tire deflating; she slumped back into her chair, her form adhering to the shape of the chair as she leaned back.

"I'm not acting..." Hannah chuckled. "Maybe we should quit whispering and watch the-"

HRAAAARGH!!! Hannah's thought was utterly derailed by an orchestral swell and the guttural shrieking of an inhuman monster. While the girls were focused on each other, the cadaver had leapt to the nurse and began tearing into her!

"EEEEEEEEEEEEK!" The girls shrieked in horror as the theatre was filled with gross, meaty noises, the tearing of flesh and the chewing of delicious flesh filling the room, screaming voices drowned out by bloody gurgling. It was very pulpy, to put it mildly.

Hannah and Rebecca embraced each other in a tight embrace; as Rebecca's hands dug into Hannah's pliable skin, Hannah's arms snaked around Rebecca, drawing her closer. They could feel each other's hearts and bodies frantically pulsing out of sheer terror. Their expressions turned to disgust at the bloody carnage on the screen.

"Hey babe you wanna duck out? Koi Story's playing in the theatre across from us..." Rebecca offered, her quiet voice almost drowned out by the movie violence on screen.

"Holy crap I have been waiting all day for you to suggest that instead!!" Hannah cried out. Hurriedly picking up their popcorn and drinks, the girls made for the exit doors, passing a theatre worker about their age gawking at them as they hurried out. They flashed a polite smile and a wave before hurrying through the doors, back into the main concourse.

"Was that Josh from Chem...?" Rebecca turned around.

"God, yeah, I think so..." Hannah hugged herself. "Oooh, he's gonna think we're big marshmallows..."

"I, uh, think he's more concerned about getting through his job..." Rebecca tapped her head. "Y'know. Mindreading and all."

"Ooooh." Hannah blinked, then nodded. "...Is it okay if we go through those doors? Isn't it wrong if we-"

"The theatres are half empty anyway." Rebecca shrugged. "What's the worst they're gonna do? Ban us? Oh no, we'll watch everything at home instead~"

"...point taken." Hannah conceded the point. The two girls made to creep into the kiddier, less scary movie...
