1st century BCE

Though conflict was a cruel reality in much of the known world in this era, with emboldened empires aiming to extend their reach and borders across new realms, many enterprising individuals banded together to make the best of a turbulent situation. Mercantile empires enjoyed many benefits: they could barter and negotiate between warring factions, serving as middlemen while making a tidy profit on supplying information, resources, and weaponry to one, both, or multiple sides. Further still, they were often able to keep organized armies away from their homelands, and could readily support garrisons capable of dissuading even the most vicious raiders.

In many regions, the coin was mightier than the sword, and those who controlled the wealth, wielded considerable power and influence, influence that multiplied exponentially, as such prosperous cities were enticing to immigrants, nomads, merchants, and religious travellers.

Varanasi, India was—and remains—one of the most historic cities in the world, dating back as far as 1200 BCE. Well before many more militant empires, it stood as a cosmopolitan center of religion and culture. It wasn't terribly surprising, then, that it attracted the attention of those originating from the heavenly plain.

Manasa is known today as the Hindu goddess of nagi, the regional equivalent to lamia. She was an avatar of Synt, a vessel for her will contained within a demi-mortal shell. Synt had too much fun creating new models of her own image, and the nagi in the subcontinent of India reflect different aesthetics. They evolved differently from other lamia; notably, they would have anywhere from one to three extra sets of arms, though there were some especially powerful nagi possessing twelve arms. In addition to the extra limbs, they were blessed with voluptuous chests, buxons multiplicative alongside their arms. Scales lined their entire body, often in shades of green, or brown, or especially an enchanting shade of blue.

It was said that Manasa was the first of her kind, possessing an enchanting power about her that bewitched the minds of men, and it is said she is the common mother of all nagi in the region. Witnesses abound were able to comment on her presence, with the common thread remarking on her impressive stature; fully reared up, she towered over buildings (estimated over nine feet tall) and her tail would wrap around fountain squares (reaching over twenty feet).

Though there were stories of savage snake women on the frontiers, there was no indication that she was a savage. She spoke a tongue that wasn't recognizable to the locals, and her serpentine tongue lent her a particular lisp. She would often be given a wide berth browsing the stalls, and no one would dare impress their prices upon her, as she had a habit of eating people she didn't like.

She was met with a particular respect, as it wasn't produce, spices, or crafts she was shopping for. Manasa would pick out men from the crowds, squirreling them away to a temple built for her stature towards the outskirts of town. Strangely, there were accounts that some men would line up in front of the temple for their opportunity to be with Manasa; despite having a devoted following, Manasa had a habit of crushing her mates to untimely death underneath her heavy body and within her powerful tail, so there was always a need for more men.

The accounts from within Manasa's temple largely originate from the writings of one Pran Kapur, a castrated man made responsible for cataloguing Manasa's sexual escapades among her throngs of willing or unwilling mates. Pran was interested in creating a work to stand the test of time; however, as she was driven by an almost predatorial libido, hungering for carnal satisfaction, her ideas had fixated on a manual for the myriad ways of performing intercourse. She was more interested in maintaining a record to remember her most favourite techniques, in case she had become forgetful. All signs indicated that Manasa was thousands of years old, so she had trouble keeping track of trifling details.

Manasa had selected Kapur to chronologue her sexual escapades through description and illustration as a reference for herself. There were more academic experiments, such as the effect of food and scents on arousal, but many of the diagrams were focused on sexual positions.

Men would be nestled between her rows of breasts, squeezing the sensitive tips of her nipples, each described as the size of vases. Men of shorter stature would be made to slide through a slit in the front of her body, to wriggle inside and pound against her inner walls. Her long, serpentine tongue narrowed at the tip, allowing her to perform feats involving precise dexterity, such as sucking off a man's cock.

Some notes indicate that, upon Kapur's suggestion, Manasa would use strange magic to shrink herself down to a scale comparable to her human partners. He protested that the results wouldn't be particularly applicable at her typically massive scale. Manasa acquiesce to his wisdom, though a note in the corner indicated that Kapur was pleased with his successful coercion of Manasa in this respect.

What followed were more fundamental studies of sexual positions, discussing early examples of tops and bottom relationships, the power dynamics of coiling around a partner, and even the optimal rhythm to jack a man off until they came.

Unfortunately, the temple itself was besieged by Mongol centaurs; it is said that Manasa moved to an underground operation, operating myriad dungeons to satiated her bubbling sexual pleasure. Though the accounts of one escaped man testify to the nature of these new sex dungeons—indicating the stripping of one's senses to enhance pain and pleasure—these accounts have yet to be verified.

Kapur, fretful of the incoming horde, made to escape with as many of the transcripts as he could, fleeing through a network of merchant transports to the Persian Empire, and then to the Delian League, where he disseminated many of his transcripts into a published work, the initial draft of the Kama Sutra. It would serve as a source of inspiration for sexual exploration, especially among those unsure about the particulars of anatomy between men and lamia. While earlier editions discussed the anatomy of female women with respect to sex, they have in subsequent years been relegated to a historical footnote, as new transcripts emerge from archeological efforts inviting new insight into the relationships between man and lamia.
