Switching Succubi

Part 1

It seemed that the first heavy snowfall of the year had, without fail, arrived well ahead of the winter season itself. It was always a jarring sight, to see the vibrant colours of autumn so literally change overnight to a blanket of white, grey and blue. With winter banging down the door, autumn took its departure much too soon.

Soon the days would become bitterly cold, the wind piercing and frigid. The snow would invariably crystalize and harden, forming uninviting, icy surfaces that were as unpleasant to navigate as they were to look at. The walkways would be slick and icy, and overcast skies would suffocate the sky...

...But for that brief moment following that snowfall, where the snow was still fresh and fluffy, all those bubbling worries of the cold realities of winter seemed to ebb away. When the snow was at its most pure and pristine, blanketing the land, untouched and unperturbed—a perfect white canvas. The previously bare tree branches adorned with layers of white.

It was a perfectly tranquil sight. Celes sighed to herself, her head resting in her hand as she stared outside, enjoying the view. The purple slime woman had bundled herself up in a white, lacy bedgown, padded with extra wool to stay warm; even with the extra oomph they put into their heating bills, things were just a bit nippy in the morning.

Celes heard about the forecast yesterday and opted to wake up early enough to appreciate it. Even if it was a weekend. Maybe the weather would have been too nippy for her outside, but she was fine looking out from inside.

She looked back to the master bed, where Leila was snoring quietly away, under a towering heap of blankets. Celes smiled to herself as her soft blue eyes followed the messy streams of Leila's long, purple hair, draped over her long, pointed ears. Her face was buried in the pillows. Leila stirred slightly, and Celes couldn't help but smile to herself.

Though they had a lot in common, a pair of demure demihumans who shared common interests, common passions, common eccentricities, common complexes... Celes and Leila's bodies were so very different. But there was one commonality: neither of them responded well to the cold. It was why they had to bundle up the way they did, keep the furnace blaring.

Leila had no fondness, no nostalgia for the winter season; her serpentine form. her cold-blooded nature left her lethargic and liable to pass out if she got too cold. And Celes, well, Celes was made of slime, and she could freeze very easily herself.

Still, Celes wasn't always like this—she had fond memories of her former humanity—and unlike Leila, she liked taking time to indulge her nostalgia for winter. Despite the biting cold, the piercing winds, the icy trails, Celes had no shortage of pleasant rituals.

Like a piping hot cup of tea to start the morning and watching the last snowflakes fall and settle, before the snow shovelers made their rounds. Celes smiled to herself, and exited the bedroom. Across the hall, down the stairs, into the kitchen.

Celes yawned to herself, smacking her lips as her arms extended skywards towards the ceiling in a stretch and a yawn; Celes jolted back to reality as her knuckles brushed the ceiling, and quickly retracted them, her mouth twisting in a complicated expression. She shuffled over to the countertop to fuss with some things.

Some water for the kettle, put it over the flame... Celes wasn't really feeling the steeped-tea approach today, settling for the simplicity of the bagged variety...

"AIIIIIIIIIIIIE!"

Celes nearly dropped and shattered her mug when she heard an ear-splitting scream coming from upstairs. It was Leila... it was unmistakably Leila!

"Leila!? Honey, I'm coming!" Celes dropped everything she was doing, sprinting for the stairs, tripping over one of the steps but recovering quickly. She swung the door to the bedroom.

"What's wrong!? I'm here! Are you okay? Are you hurt??" Celes blurted out a million panicked questions, huffing and wheezing as she gripped the doorknob tightly. She squinted, looking to the bed.

Leila was still in bed, pulling up the covers to her chest. She was hyperventilating, her chest rising and falling; she was clutching the blankets so tightly that they hugged her chest. Her blue eyes were wide and panicked.

"Celes!? S... something happened... I-I don't under... understaaand..." Leila whispered, whimpering under her breath. She seemed almost on the verge of fainting.

Celes studied Leila with a concerned, empathetic look on her face. Something was different. Celes couldn't put her finger on it. Something struck her as off...

There was a strange smell. Celes didn't recognize it. It was... nice. Calming. She couldn't make it out, but it was strangely soothing, like it was taking the edge off of her. Distracting Celes from Leila's apparent crisis.

Celes' mind wandered, but she remembered herself, stiffly shaking her head. Her eyebrows furrowed as she approached the bed, kneeling beside Leila.

"Leila? I need you to talk to me, okay?" Celes whispered, brushing back Leila's long, purple hair. She smiled reassuringly. "Take a deep breath."

"I-I feel funny, Celes!" Leila stuttered, her face pale. "My back's itchy, m-my head's aching, and I can't feel... I can't feel my-"

"Breeeeathe." Celes insisted.

Leila's mouth flattened. She did as Celes instructed, trying to breathe from her diaphragm. Her panicked gasping settled into quiet, shallow breathing. Celes took her seat on the bed, placing a hand on Leila's cheek—partly to comfort her, partly to check for a fever.

"...ah?"

Celes blinked. This wasn't right. Leila's cheek was soft. Radiating heat from the intense blush she had. But... Celes had known Leila for a long time. Leila had been so panicked, Celes didn't realize soon...

Leila's cheeks were usually scaled. Brushed with the same pretty, marbelly white scales of her snake tail. But now, as Celes looked, she found they were skin and flesh like the rest of her face. Celes' purple hand absentmindedly rose to brush across Leila's forehead, a robotic motion to see if Leila got a bad fever.

...Celes gasped. The back of her hand brushed against something hard. And pointed. Like bone, or...

Celes gulped silently, brushing Leila's messy hair back to get a better look. Her eyes widened; a pair of ivory-white horns sprouted from Leila's forehead.

"W... what on earth?" Celes whispered to herself.

"What?? What is it? What's happening to me?!" Leila cried, her anxiety spiking with Celes' muted reaction.

"I-I don't know, you... you have horns growing from your head." Celes swallowed. "And your scales, they... they're gone!" Celes turned to Leila, motioning to her own cheek with one of her hands. "The scales on your cheeks."

"Th... then there's something wrong with me, I... I..."

Leila shook her head, her eyes wincing. Her grip on her blanket weakened, and for the first time, Celes got a full view of Leila...

A lacy undergarment supported her healthy breasts as she held her arms close to her chest. From her upper back, a pair of gnarled wings sprouted from her backside, folded up. They momentarily reminded Celes of the dragons she read about in fairy tales, or perhaps...

Celes' eyes lowered to Leila's legs. Her legs. She should've found a massive snake tail, about ten feet long, but there was only a pair of slender, attractive legs. And between those legs was...

Oh Goddess. Celes' expression darkened.

"Y-you're naked...!" Celes stuttered.

"I'm naked!?" Leila tensed up all at once, her hands scrambling to cover her face. "W-where's my beautiful tail!? Why do I have these, these weird legs, I don't want them, I don't want them!"

Every cell of Leila's being flared up as she rocked back and forth. She pulled her hair, tears forming in the corner of her eyes. She just wanted to close her eyes, and wake up from this horrible nightmare! As Leila tried to curl up into a ball, a devilish tail, previously hidden by the blankets, whipped out from behind her, ending in a point that looked like a spade.

Sssssss...

There was this persistent hissing sound in the background too. Leila inhaled sharply, almost on the verge of hyperventilating, but she hacked and coughed instead. The air was so thick now.

"L... Leeeeilaaaa...?"

Celes muttered her name, but something was wrong. It was out of focus. Slurred. Leila peeked through her fingers, and gasped.

The entire room had been enveloped in some kind of pink haze. Leila looked around, trying to find the source. Was there a fire? There was a gnawing dread in the back of Leila's mind...

She refocused her attention on Celes; she looked like she was staring off into space, looking right through Leila. Leila grimaced, scootching her back against the bedrest.

"C... Celes? Are you okay?" Leila asked carefully.

"...feel... greaaat..." Celes chuckled. Leila realized then that Celes' pretty blue eyes had taken on a different colour. They were bright pink, clouded with hearts...

Hearts for Leila. Celes rolled over onto the bed, a drunken smile crossing her lips. She crawled on her arms and legs, creeping along Leila's body.

"Leeilaaaa..." Celes chuckled with that strange, off-kilter grin. Leila looked on, terrified. She recognized this behaviour; she had accidentally hypnotized Celes before with her special lamian eyes. They would flashy, vibrant, bewitching patterns to capture someone's attention. To mould their mind to her whims. Leila hated that part about her, but to this point she had learned to deal with it and use it responsibly, minimally...

But this was different. This was new.

Leila stared in astonishment and horror as, with no reservation, Celes began to undress herself, allowing her robe to slide off her shoulders. Her heavyset form pressed against Leila, their foreheads meeting. Celes was too heavy for Leila in her more petit form, and Celes wrapped her arms lustily around Leila's shoulders.

"I love youuuuu... Leeeeilaaaaaa~" Celes whispered into her ear. This was not like Celes at all. She was out of her mind. All Leila could wonder was what the hell was going on! Why was she trapped in this body!?

---

While Leila grappled with her unwelcome changes, elsewhere in the humble town of Crossroads, Kamika Malagic, the matriarch of her domain, was having the time of her life.

"It worked! It worked! Hell yeah, it worked to my exacting, perfect specifications! AAAAAAH HAHAHAHA!~"

She cackled giddily to herself, rearing up as high as she could to take in the sights. She turned to a full body mirror, chuckling to herself as she looked herself over.

"My beauty is ever more radiant, is it not? These purple snake scales accentuate my womanly features, and this tail, ooooh this tail, I can just feel the power in it!~"

She cooed, slithering back and forth, turning around to stroke her glossy purple scales; her reptilian irises narrowed, flashing an excited smile.

"Alright minions, this is an excellent time for praise, because in my humble opinion, I believe I knocked this spell out of the park, yes? Am I right? Toil? Trouble?"  Kamika grinned, leering down to her lowly subjects; a pair of bumbling, unassuming gargoyles.

"Yeah boss, you said it!" Toil nodded eagerly. "...What'd you do again?"

"Ah, c'mon you idiot, try and keep up." Trouble smacked his partner across the head. "She's tryin' out her Medusa costume for Halloween! Heh, probably still workin' on all the fancy hydraulic snakes what for a headpiece."

"Wha? Halloween was months ago, you git!" Toil smacked him back.

"...um... oh, god, you're both idiots." Kamika frowned with a dawning look of befuddlement. She sighed, rubbing her head. "Double Double, you're the only one I can ever seem to count on... at least catch them up on my genius, I'm going to oggle myself in the mirror some more."

"Of course." A third gargoyle made his appearance, with a composed expression—like he was there the entire time, but hidden in the shadows. He bowed slightly, watching Kamika turn to a mirror to continue giggling like a ninny, before turning to the other two.

"The Mistress Kamika's latest potion, the equilibrium transmutation elixir, was a complete success." Double Double explained. "Kamika has had a keen eye on one Leila Antioch for a long time. Her power of persuasion, the power to enchant with nothing but her lamian eyes, were a power just out of reach. But with but a single scale from her lamian hide, and a shaving of Kamika's horn, the mistress could perform a body swapping ritual."

"Ohhh yeaaaah!" Toil nodded. "It was a team effort, it was! Go team!"

"Actually, I was the one that required the lamian scale for the mistress." Double Double clarified pointedly. "And Kamika prepared the potion herself. It's not like either of you can read..."

"Well you wouldn't have succeeded if you didn't have us for moral support." Trouble folded his arms. "Blackjack, Dubs."

"..." Double Double squinted, decidedly befuddled, before shaking his head. "Yes. Team effort. Right." He turned back to Kamika. "Are you satisfied in your new form?"

"ECSTATIC!" Kamika beamed, jutting up towards the ceiling...

BONK! She ended up hitting her head on the ceiling. Wincing in pain, she rubbed her head, running a hand through her shoulder-length blonde hair.

"Ack... tch..." Kamika clicked her tongue.

"Will you be... alright?" Double Double tilted his head. "This suburban domicile was built for humans, not lamia."

"Fine, fine. It's just something to get used to." Kamika nodded, finding her poise and grace quickly. "Once I'm accustomed to having a tail—aaaaaaaand my new powers of hypnotism—I'll have this miserable town eating out of my hand!"

Kamika chuckled giddily. So many possibilities for her new form. So much power to behold...

She looked up to the railing that overlooked the main hallway of their house. Her eyes lowered to a carpeted stairwell that lead up to them. She eagerly slithered towards them, eager to clamber up them.

"The world is within my grasp! I'm going to be... I'm going to be the queen of this backwater... um?"

Kamika's purple tail could hardly get a grip. She had only made it halfway up the staircase, before she could ascend no more, her marbelly scales constantly slipping against the carpet. She glanced down precariously.

"...um??" She paused... and began to slip!

"ACK! FUCK, SHIT, PISS-" She cursed various obscenities as her tail flailed wildly; in due time, she flopped back on the hardwood floor, sprawled on the ground. The tip of her tail twitched erratically; she puffed, trying to blow an errant bang of hair out of her eyes.

"Are you alright, my mistress!?" Double Double kneeled before her.

"I'm fine. Don't treat me like I'm so pathetic. I hate it." She growled. "Just... go upstairs and get my shit. AND YOU TWO! TEAR OUT THAT GAUDY CARPET!"

"Y'sure, miss?" Toil stumbled forward. "The guy we're renting from ain't gonna be happy if we go and-"

"DID I STUTTER!?" Kamika shouted.

"Yes ma'am! Right away ma'am!" The bumbling pair salutered and clambered for the stairwell; Double Double went for the stylish approach and, brandishing a hookshot, jettisoned up to the balcony.

"I will be back momentarily, my mistress." Double Double reassured. Kamika simply rolled her eyes.

"Just need to adjust to this body. Then they'll pay." Kamika scoffed. "They'll all pay."

---

Leila had no worldly idea over what was coming over Celes, but she could feel her entranced partners weight on her body. Celes was lowering her body to Leila's, eager to get closer; her viscous, slimy skin clung needily to Leila's new body.

"Celes! You have to snap out of this! PLEASE!!" Leila pleaded.

"Leeeeilaaaaa..." Celes was completely out of it. Her eyes continued to flash those vibrant pink hearts. There was no getting through to her. As Celes lowered her head to kiss Leila, Leila outstretched one of her arms to stop Celes, smooshing the slime woman's face in the process; it might have been comically if Leila wasn't so spooked.

But from Leila's outstretched arm, she made a strange discovery. The pink smog seemed thickest around her skin... no, her body itself. It was like it was coming from inside of her.

Ssssssssss... that sound persisted. Leila calmed down; she could feel her body tingling, feel a muscle that wasn't there before, feel something flowing from every pore in her body.

Leila realized then that she was responsible for this pink haze. That she was producing it. Her eyebrows furrowed; could she get it to stop...?

"Leerler..." Celes whispered, her voice indistinctly muffled by Leila's palm. She reached her arms out towards Leila.

"Awawawa..." Leila babbled, looking around the room for anything to use.

...The window! Leila needed to ventilate the room, and she needed to do it in a hurry! There were a couple in the room... the closest one was off to the right, just past the bedstand.

She slipped out from Celes' embrace, trying to put some distance between herself and her bewitched lover. She shifted her body towards the window...

"Ack!"

Leila unceremoniously flopped to the floor, her human legs kicking helplessly as she faceplanted against the rug. She glanced back to her legs, watching her toes wriggle helplessly.

"S-Stupid legs!" She bemoaned her situation. Poor Leila had never learned to walk, but she was about to get a crash course. She grimaced and huffed, trying to pull herself up, using her upper body to crawl to the window. She tensed her fingers, grunting to pull herself up to the window, quickly fussing with the latches.

"G-Got it!" Leila had to use the windowsill as a crutch, but she propped herself up, and pushed open the window emphatically! She beamed, laughing to herself; the awful pink smoke was being sucked out through the drafty window!

"Leeeeeilaaaaa...??"

A familiar voice lustily called to her. Leila froze as two damp palms gently gripped her shoulders.

"Where are you gooooing... Leilaaaa? I wanna be with you... forever~" Celes giggled. She turned Leila around, she found Celes looking at her, extending her arms beyond their typical lengths—another three or so extra feet of length—to grab Leila, and pull her back.

Leila was stuck. Her eyes lowered to the nightstand, where a glass of water sat idly—reserved for Celes in case she got thirsty at night. An idea occurred to Leila, and her eyes shifted back to Celes. The nervous girl swallowed.

"I-I fell, can you... carry me back to bed?" Leila forced a smile.

"Of course... anything for you, Leeeeilaaa~" Celes chuckled. Her arms bonelessly slithered to wrap around Leila's shoulders, and she began to slowly reel her back to bed.

"Almost there... almost there..." Leila stared at the glass of water, reaching for it as she got closer and closer...

"...Now!"

Leila grabbed the water and flung its contents at Celes' face! Surprised, Celes' arms immediately retracted, dropping Leila to the ground; she flopped, her arms slumping over the side of the bed as her legs collapsed underneath her. Celes stirred, rubbing her face.

"Ah, shoot, I... L-Leila?" Celes lowered her hands; those pretty blue hues had returned, and they lowered to look over Leila's slumped body. "O-oh no, d-did it happen again? The thing with the eyes?"

"N... n-not exactly..." Leila heaved a sigh of relief, happy that Celes had been brought back to her senses. "Celes, I-I don't know how this happened, but I..."

Leila swallowed, unfurling the wings on her backside. She looked them over with a pained grimace.

"...I-I'm not who I used to be, I'm..."

"Y, you're a succubus!?" Celes exclaimed, covering her mouth. Leila lowered her head with a weak grimace.

It seems that today would be a stranger start to the winter season than either of them had anticipated.
