Journal: Thank You!! + Potential Content/Tier Changes
Added 2020-03-04 21:04:39 +0000 UTCHi! It's been a while since I made a personal post, but we got some new subscribers over the past little while, and I wanted to express my gratitude for your support! In my eyes, it feels like this Patreon is still in the state of a soft launch as I figure out what my plans and priorities are going ahead, so I wanna take a bit to gage what the patrons would like to see.
This is kind of a loose thread of me thinking about how to go from here, and nothing's really set in stone. Lemme know what you guys think and wanna see.
I'm strongly considering reviewing the upper tier content and revising some of the tiers for outmoded content. Specifically, I was prepared to adjust the 50$ tier to a 25$ tier to provide monthly writing prompts that are ~1k words in length. I'm quickly wrapping up the ongoing series of Sier and Celes' Giant Honeymoon which served as something of a test run, and the final chapter should be sent out to you guys in April. The 25$ tier would probably be the new most expensive tier in that circumstance, with the underutilized 100$ tier getting cut entirely.
I would also phase out the advice columns since they aren't particularly the focus of my work lately.
I'm also thinking about how to more publicly release works to draw more attention, and have more of a grand opening to the patreon in turn. To this point, I've been sequentially releasing new patreon stories on staggered release; a similar strategy would apply to public facing stories, using only a selection of the stories to share on major art platforms like dA.
Commissions will generally remain exclusive to Patreon as well.
Deciding on a balance between public and Patreon works is a bit of a challenge, so I'm brainstorming avenues to expand audience without alienating you guys who support my work. I don't have plans to adjust prices or benefits of the tiers for 1$-5$, which comprise of the majority of subscribers, but since I'm not really doing advice columns I will need to think of some adjustments for the 2$ tier. I don't think I have a big enough audience right now for some of the cooler options (like a private discord), but if that changes, that'll probably be a factor in adjustments.
I'm also interested in hearing feedback from you guys as to what stories I should continue to pursue. Lemme know what you guys think in the comments!
Thanks so much for your support these last few months! I wanna make some big strides in 2020 and continue to produce stories that resonate with people.
