VN Project 001 - Preparations complete
Added 2023-09-03 12:08:42 +0000 UTCThe past week I've set up everything that I need to work on that visual novel demo I've mentioned a while ago.
I've synced all of my files between my PC and my chromebook that I'm using for writing and programming.
For the actual game I'll be using ren'py which already covers all of the basic functionality that you would expect like saving and loading, branching story paths as well as support for Android, Linux and Windows. It also supports custom python code so that I can add more functionality over time.
My chromebook will allow me to test the Linux and Android builds but the main focus will be on the Windows version for now.
I'll try to stick with a semi-realistic style for the characters and backgrounds. Sound will be a very low priority for now.
I hope to be able to show you more the coming days, like the first few backgrounds an character images and how they look within the game engine.
