In terms of atmosphere with our characters being surrounded by racism, Yaz and Ryan facing the full force of it, and each companion having a role to fulfil in keeping history on track, the episode did those aspects well. I even liked Ryan's shock in meeting MLK and reassuring Rosa. But for the other issues that Rekai mentioned such as the ending, missing info & the fact it took so long to get a black woman as a writer? Fully agree on those problems with the episode. I also think Krasko was defeated in such an underwhelming way. There wasn't enough build up with the device that Ryan saw The Doctor use. I feel like that needed a bit more elaboration with Ryan observing how it works. I liked the cat and mouse game aspect they had with him though. Better than the last episode and the attempt was admirable. But there are certain aspects of the episode that didn't quite land as well as they could have. Graham's reaction to being a part of events is genuinely sad though. Them being part of an events was a decent book end idea. But I think it needed better execution with some of the stuff in the middle act and the ending.

Really interesting hearing your discussion on this, enjoyed the episode at the time, like you say a big swing to take this topic on esp so early in a new era! But I thought it was quite good (bar how easy the villain was dispatched for one) but yeah enjoyed your post show chat about all the nuances , very informative! Thanks!
