You're so right. I love in the van when the wife tells the story saying they were 13 yrs old (same age as Jamie) and that the dad was the type to not care if people laughed at him. The dad laughingly says they weren't laughing. But at the store he gets in the kids face saying "Don't laugh at me!" And later talks about the other dads at footy laughing at Jamie. The writing is so good in this show. Jamie was mad the flat chested girl laughed at him when she should have been grateful he would even ask her out. My 20 yr old daughter told me recently some guys have hinted maybe she and they "could mess around a bit" when they were hanging out. She told them no and they would demand that she explain why. She said she learned to be careful in her response because they would get madder when she told them she didn't owe them an explanation; she's allowed to say no.

2025-03-27 03:48:19 +0000 UTCI feel like Rekkai misses some of the context cuz he’s seemingly unaware of the rise of Incel/women hating culture etc. and that kind of content online. So that “support” the worker was talking about was from THAT community not just people thinking he couldn’t do it cuz he comes from a good household. Which is why we see Jamie really only worried about his dad and what he thinks and barely wanting to engage with his mom/sister. And while I agree Jamie doesn’t have the exact same kind of anger as his dad he is somewhat influenced by how his dad behaves and the way his mom responds to it. The dad does have a temper (but coming from a different place) and like we see in this episode every time the dad blows up the mom just placates it and just tries to make everything okay.
