I'm so grateful y'all are watching this show and doing these reactions; I've been overdue for a rewatch of Capaldi's episodes for a while and I can't think of two people I'd enjoy watching them with more than you, and hearing all your amazing thoughts and insight about them as we go. You make it so much more interesting than it has to be. And I appreciate how much you seem to still love and enjoy the show this deep in, and I'm really, REALLY looking forward to the end of this season and all of 9, which is my favorite season of the show next to 4.

Yeah, this was the first episode of the season that really blew me away. On rewatches there are others I really love, like Listen and The Caretaker, but this one still is super solid and for sure a highlight of the season. The first time the illusion of the train broke away to reveal they've been in a lab the whole time, halfway through the episode, had my head absolutely spinning.

Love the “Are You My Mummy?” callback. The 10th Doctor also did this. I like the theory that The Doctor remembers the Empty Child fondly because it’s one of the few times he got it right. Everyone lived thanks to him

I am surprised you don’t think the story for this one is a 10/10, it’s pretty universally loved in the fandom and is hailed as the best of Series 8
