Will always be fun seeing people reckoning with regenerations, it's such a unique thing in TV and love seeing how different people deal with it. RTD and Moffett have both said in interviews what you both did about Dr Who, the actor may change but the character doesn't, the Dr is always the Dr, so it's a shame when people can't get on board purely due to the person (if it's based on storylines etc then no worries obvs) but number of people who hate based on the actor alone is frustrating! Hope you enjoy the Capaldi era as much as I did and still do! Great chat at the end btw!

I completely forgot about the Madame de pompadour callback reference with the clock-like droids in The Girl in the Fireplace. Rekai has way better memory than mine

Sadly a lot of people left the show when Capaldi took over but he did carve out his own corner in the show. He became a version that was his own. Unlike any other Doctor. A progressively difficult task as regeneration follows regeneration. He gained a lot more fans in retrospect as the Doctor continued. He is a great actor though he had more than his share of dumb plots. Jenna gained more disdain progressively as she was considered bland compared with her impossible girl versions which was a shame. Old timers have all been through this on many occasions so it's water off a ducks back. The beauty of the show is nothing is nailed in and it will change eventually. The only real issues should be with the story's. Do they make sense? Are they well written? I know that is a taste issue in the main but it is important.

Watched the episode but haven't watched the half hour of commentary after just yet. The actor playing the homeless man in the alley is the husband of Elizabeth Sladen, Sarah Jane's actress. David Tennant is Scottish, you're right. His Doctor wasn't though. He did slip in to it a tiny bit when getting emotional sometimes but that wasn't on purpose. He did go Scottish during Tooth and Claw with Queen Victoria and the werewolf though

The post-episode discussion in this is an absolute BANGER dude. Rekkai is LOCKED in on 12 already and I love it.

So with the Impossible Girl, she was born and died multiple times for the purpose of saving the Doctor. All were separate lives, they didn’t know each other, and all died except the main Clara who jumped into the time stream and the 11th Doctor followed her and saved her. So at that point, β€˜The Impossible Girl’ was basically over.
