This is the first episode of DW to be shot for HDTV! Everything going forward will look a little crisper visually. The episode also stars "Get Out" star Daniel Kaluuya before his eventual fame, another furthering their career with Dr Who. It also stars English comedian Lee Evans who plays "Malcolm" his stand up is some of the funniest work you can ever see 👀 it will have you crying with laughter. Sadly Malcolm does not return but he gets mentioned in the future. It's a standard adventure romp that ends as soon as it begins for me & very mid but Tennant & Ryan carry it really well & that ending sends shivers "You be careful now because your song is ending sir, It is coming through the dark, oh but then..He will knock 4 times" 👀

2024-07-24 22:11:06 +0000 UTCThis was an incredible nightmare in production. It had a deadline of an Easter special & started filming in Jan 2009 it was shot, edited at pace for DW. RTD decided that the crew would travel to Dubai as well (not CGI) but the bus was damaged in transit (which was front page news in the UK) RTD then wrote the damage into the story. Lady Christina was played by Michelle Ryan who once starred in a one season NBC remake of the 70's "The Bionic Woman" but it bombed in 2007 - (https://youtu.be/JzNL0KPSCSk?si=mPRRQAwAoL_ccOy8 ) Lady Christina does not return in DW visually but Michelle has done some audio adventures with Big Finish

2024-07-24 21:56:59 +0000 UTCThis one is a fun carnival ride, which I really enjoy having. I love the high stakes, high stress, emotion, tension episodes, but it can't be that all the time. For me, that gets exhausting! This one isn't the masterpiece that Midnight is, but I've rewatched this one many more times than I've rewatched Midnight. It's comfort Who for me.
