The christmas special that you're talking about IS NOT THE LAST DOCTOR WHO EPISODE. The older I get, the more I realize why I liked Donna growing up. This episode really hits home why.

We're sorting out the detail on how to do it, but I think we're almost there. We can't wait to watch with everyone at the same time.

Back in the library two parter Donna: I saw The Doctor! Doctor Moon: Yes you did, Donna. And then, you forgot. Back in the Agatha Christie episode *Agatha forgets The Doctor and Donna* Back in Turn Left *Donna doesn't remember The Doctor because that version of her didn't meet him* And now it's unfortunately become a reality with our Donna truly forgetting The Doctor once more and for good. Oof it still hurts to watch but the seeds of memory loss being common were there and sprinkled in previous episodes. For Donna to go all through that growth in the series just to finally find worth in herself only to have it taken away is so heart-breaking but it also makes for such a beautifully tragic ending to her arc. I love how Syntell immediately clocked the rain origin gif with this episode lmao. The Doctor and Wilf's reactions still break my heart. I also love how The Doctor called out Sylvia in the way she treats Donna. That jolt was so good. I love this finale. Very emotional, bittersweet, funny and thrilling at the same time. The reality bomb scene is a highlight with Sarah Jane, Mickey and Jackie witnessing the death of those poor people. The scenes with The Doctor, Donna, Jack and Rose in the Tardis were also nice as was Davros confronting The Doctor and taunting him and Rose with Dalek Caan. Martha travelling alone to use the key feels like a nice continuation of her walking through the world in attempt to save it from tyranny. I love how it all comes together with the companions coming together in attempt to save The Doctor and fight against the Daleks only for Davros to reveal The Doctor's true soul in turning his children of time into weapons. The montage of nearly all the supporting cast of characters who've died because of The Doctor throughout Series 1-4 was very effective too. It really showed the reality and weight of the danger with The Doctor and it's a nice callback to Boom Town where the Slitheen lady said a similar thing about how he runs and doesn't look back out of shame. The twist of Caan betraying the Daleks because of what he witnessed was also effective but I like his statement of one companion dying was still accurate with The DoctorDonna essentially dying with the memory wipe. The scene with everyone piloting the Tardis together is one of my favourite moments of the series. It's such a pivotal and a joyous moment to see the companions of this era together in The Tardis contributing in saving the Earth. I also love the song that plays too. Nice callback to the Ood. Rose's ending is also emotional while still feeling like a fitting end for her arc even though it's understandable to why she still feels that it isn't right. Losing Donna is a real gutpunch though. She's my favourite modern day companion and Series 4 is still my favourite series of Doctor Who to this day. So many great stories with strong and complex themes and narratives which challenged both The Doctor and Donna. The second back half especially is still my favourite run of Doctor Who from the Library episodes all the way to Midnight, Turn Left, Stolen Earth and this. Even the early stories like Pompeii, Ood and the Sontaran episodes were enjoyable. Performances from every one was great too. Loved your reactions to Mickey and Jackie returning too. It's sad how The Doctor went from being surrounded with his family of companions in the Tardis only to be tragically left alone by himself at the end of the episode after they all depart. That always stuck with me. Looking forward to your reactions to the 5 upcoming specials and the future deep dive on this episode.

Loved this! Will you guys be doing a series 4 livestream?

Rebecca Burgess

I really hope you guys continue into watching the Eleventh Doctor. I’ve been excited waiting for that.

Brittany McGee

You gotta watch the next 5 !!!!!

Shannon Hitchins

Really enjoyed your discussion. I'm looking forward to the specials. Do you think you guys will be doing season 5? that season grew on me in the past few years.

Ekk

Silence in the Library, Forest of the Dead, Midnight, Turn Left, Stolen Earth, then Journey's End, one week after the other, was WILD to experience live. Never seen another TV show with a run of six all-timer episodes in a row just out of nowhere. Until the second half of the series people online were having heated arguments about whether Fires of Pompeii or Planet of the Ood was going to be the best of the series. IIRC general opinion settled on Pompeii being better. Funny to look back now with the benefit of hindsight. We had no idea what was coming up. The whole series was great.

"That's where the meme came from!" Now you can feel the incredibly jarring feeling I do whenever people who didn't watch the show use it in weird contexts lol

Oh snap. Wasn't expecting this one tonight!!!! What an ending for all of the David Tennant companies (Apart from one 😔). A few specials upcoming. You'll love them
