Get it? CAUSE IT'S DEVELOPMENT SHOTS? HEH HEH.

Another CLASSIC here. Really went all out on the visuals for this one. I thought it would be funny to show the crude-as-hell draft alongside for contrast. Pretty sure this comic still stands as the only comic that features SHADED SPEECHBUBBLES. I guess I got really carried away in general cause it was a fun challenge to draw. It's often the case that visual simplicity is key to a joke landing so I greatly treasure comic ideas that involve/require complex visuals. I feel like those are the comics I live for. Drawing comics would be dull if I didn't challenge myself. So it's important to GO MAD WHERE POSSIBLE. I guess thinking up the jokes in the first place are a challenge in themselves but those are the less fun types of challenge where you either have something or you don't, there's no clear progression in between those two states. Like a loading screen without a percentage complete bar. GROSS!!!
