Behind-the-Bulge Hourlyween Special

Oh boy where to start. What we have here is the FIRST COMPLETE DRAFT of the Halloween Special, a lot happened since that iteration, LET'S GO THROUGH IT ROW BY ROW.

BUT BEFORE WE DO THAT. I just gotta say I've been really overwhelmed and happy with how well these comic sagas have been going down. Crazy to think that if I put them into a book I can say that everything in the book has been on the front page of imgur at some point. In fact I noticed the original party saga was reposted and made front page AGAIN on the same day that the halloween comic was on the front page, amazing, imgur really knows how to spoil me. BUT NOT AS MUCH AS YOU GUYS. Thank you guys so much, I don't think I say this enough but this financial support really means a lot and really helps me out, I know I don't post as much as I used to but I hope these huge sagas make up for it.

ANYWAY WHERE WERE WE, YES, ROW BY ROW COMMENTARY, LET'S GO:

1: This saga was originally gonna be way more self-referential, with two trick or treaters both dressed as characters from the recent Halloween costume ideas comic, complete with bin and fish treat pails. I guess I felt the need to tone it down a bit. The first row is a pretty generic intro sequence but felt it was best to just cut straight to the gags. AND YES. Originally there were 2 trick or treaters, one boy one girl, the boy dressed as Grim Dunker, and the girl dressed as a less revealing version of the Siccubus (cause a young girl dressed as Siccubus would've been WEIRD) but the toned down Siccubus just looked kinda shit so I went for the skater witch instead. Which I was very happy with. Skater witch is one of my fav character designs yet. The main reason I cut it down to just one character was because having 2 people at the door everytime was way too cluttered and made a lot of the action panels too busy.

2: Yeah baby, more self-referential comedy, JELLY BABIES IN THE BIN PAIL, GET IT? BABY BINNING?? YEAH. *TAKES IT THE FUCK OUT IN SECOND DRAFT*

3: Hell yeah, this one's staying. One of the shockingly few times I've laughed out loud upon thinking up an idea. Let's move this to FIRST ROW STATUS.

4: Another battle-hardened row that managed to endure the rigorous editing process.

5 & 6: Same with these. I was so excited about drawing the skeleton key kicking through the keyhole, one of my favourite if not my favourite door kick gag that I've come up with so far.

7: Uh oh, BICKERING WITHIN THE GROUP. It seemed fun at first but kinda hard to keep that in when you TAKE OUT ONE OF THE CHARACTERS.

8 & 9: I liked the part where he immediately kicks through the wall to confront them the second they break their promise. But this all got scrapped in favour of a lucky break in terms of linking characters together. I was hoping to sneak in the characters from the original party saga at some point. And I remembered that the guy in grey from the original party (you know, the one that left instantly and became a meme) was still alive so I gave him the role of the YOU PROMISSSED guy. And he got buried alive too. So now everyone from the original party comic has died at least once (unless you count the policeman).

10: Ah yes, the burying alive. Clearly I looked at this row and thought, I NEED TWO MORE OF THESE. This saga needs some recurring gags, cause clearly the doorkick wasn't enough. I had to bring in SOMETHING fresh.

11: I felt really good about this one, it's exactly my kind of stupid joke. You guys probably figured that out already, I really like the word SICK. Was pretty chuffed with the loss.jpg reference in the final too 8^).

12: WOO, MORE BURYING.

13: Another triumphant editing process survivo-wait, ROW 13?!?! Yeah. I am hoping to put all these hourly comic sagas into a small book. So having the total length in multiples of 3 is what I aim for each time. Hence why I compacted it all down to 12. (I try to stick to multiples of 3 in general when writing longer jokes cause I'm always thinking about the possibility of putting it in a book).

ALRIGHT THAT'S THAT. I'm actually already working on another saga lol, it's christmas themed. GET PUMPED.
