Heyyy! Here it is. The first wave of development sketches and such!
Haha this is the first time I've been so open with all my process stuff, I feel so vulnerable! As you can see I've pretty much just slapped a ton of development images into the attachments section. I admit it's a bit of a mess, sorry about that. I am still very new to Patreon so bear with me. For future I will most likely merge multiple stages of a comic's development into a single image so it's not such a chore to download and view everything individually. I'll also be sure to include additional narrative and the final results in all of that too for that extra bit of comparative fun. Yeah. Sorry I didn't think to do that this time round, I'M STILL LEARNING. Next month's update is gonna make this one look like SHIT I can see it now.
EXPLANATION OF ATTACHED IMAGES:
RIGHT. Where do I start. Okay so all the files with a "D" on them are the initial drafts I hastily sketch up on Photoshop, I like to run these past a few people first to see what they make of the joke before I proceed to DRAW IT OUT PROPERLY. Sometimes if I like how the draft has been drawn, I will actually PRINT IT OUT for reference as I draw it out again on paper.
The SCAN files are what the comics look like the moment they're scanned in, before all the fancy digital editing. As you can see I am a very clumsy drawer, I make a lot of mistakes, or I can get really nitpicky over how something looks, even when it comes to handwritten text. So there's a lot of stuff that needs fixing up before colouring. (If I'm unsure about stuff I've written inside the panels, I'll write more stuff around the outside to edit in later, on the basis that my handwriting via wacom tablet looks nothing like my actual handwriting. GOTTA BE CONSISTENT YO.)
Regarding SCAN311+, two of November's comics actually shared the same A3 piece of paper as a couple of older comics so I figured I'd just throw the whole page at you as a SURPRISE BONUS.
I also threw in some concept art of the crystal-wielding PRESIDENT from one of my sketchbooks. In case you were wondering what the hell is going on in 312-CA.
Whew. I guess that's it for now. If you guys have any feedback on my Patreon posting methods, I am all ears because let's face it, I need it haha. Thanks again for supporting my Patreon!
