💌┆hello everybunny!
it's been a long time since i've updated my tutorials for setting up icons and wallpapers - all my old tutorials are completely outdated now! this post is a brand new tutorial with full written instructions, images, and common section where you can ask any questions you have!

💌┆setting up folder icons!
download the app icons you want to use from the ‘macbook icons’ folder in the bundle’s google drive file (usually found in the desktop > desktop icons > macbook icons section)
once downloaded, locate the icons in your finder software (mine saves to the download tab, but yours might be elsewhere)
click and open the first icon you wish to use with the preview application (the preview application is the default image software on macbooks, but if you don’t have the preview application, have a little google to find out how to get it :)
once your icon is opened on preview, hold ⌘A to select the entire image, then ⌘C to copy it - you now have the icon copied and will paste it to the correct area later (make sure you don’t copy anything else until then as it will overwrite the copied icon)
reopen the finder software and click ‘macintosh HD’ in the locations tab in the side bar - yours might look slightly different or have a different name, but you7re looking for a screen like this;
click the application folder and scroll till you find the application you wish to edit
right click on the application and select ‘get info’
a thin new window willl open - find the app icon in the top left and click on it once, then type ⌘V to paste the custom icon ontop of the default application icon (you may need to enter your macbook password for permission - don’t worry, this whole process is easily reversible and does no damage to the app)
the app icon is now changed!
💌┆setting up application icons!
💡unfortunately apple only allows for icon customisation of third party apps - default apple applications cannot be edited, i.e. spotify can have a custom icon but safari cannot
download the app icons you want to use from the ‘macbook icons’ folder in the bundle’s google drive file (usually found in the desktop > desktop icons > macbook icons section)
once downloaded, locate the icons in your finder software (mine saves to the download tab, but yours might be elsewhere)

the app icon is now changed!
💌┆setting up wallpapers!
download the wallpapers you desire from the ‘desktop wallpapers’ folder in the bundle’s google drive file
open system preferences and click ‘desktop and screensaver’
you may be able to find your newly downloaded wallpapers in one of the existing folders on the side bar, but if it isn’t there, proceed to the net step
find the (+ / -) buttons in the bottom left and select ‘+’
this will open your finder software - locate the folder that your wallpaper is saved in, and with the folder open on the tab, click ‘choose’
now you can select this folder from the side bar, and the saved wallpaper will be inside this folder
💌┆common problems & trouble shooting!
💬 i want to remove the custom application icon!
to reverse this process and remove the custom icons, simply repeat steps 5 to 7 of the 'folder icon' or the 'application icon' tutorials
after step 7, instead of pasting onto the icon, simply click the icon and then backspace (on your macbook this is likely the ‘delete’ button)
after backspacing, the folder or app icon will return to normal (you may need to re-enter your macbook password)
💬 i want to change the custom icon to a different image!
simply repeat steps 1 to 9 of the 'folder icon' or the 'application icon' tutorials with the different image you want, and when you click paste, it will replace the old icon with your new one!
💬 my wallpaper reset to a default one after turning my macbook off and on!
it’s likely this happened if the wallpaper file has been removed from the folder it was in. this means your macbook cannot find the wallpaper you set!
to fix this, either move the wallpaper back to the original folder and reset your wallpaper using steps x to x, or repeat steps x to x to register the new folder, and reset your wallpaper that way!
