Weekly Update - Oct 10th

Hi Everyone,

Strange week in terms of progress. If you remember last week, I said I was down to two and a half scenes in terms of rendering. Well I got a little carried away with that half scene I was working on, it ended up being a lot bigger than I had initially intended. I also added another scene. I've made good progress though. So I'm now about to start the penultimate scene for the update (that one won't be very long). The final scene is a bit larger. But in terms of rendering, we're almost there.

Scripting and code lags a little behind though, that's going to be my focus for this weekend. I'm hoping to be caught up before I start rendering that final scene.

I've been thinking a lot about the last few chapters and how to bring the curtain down on the story. I've gone back and forth a lot in my mind on how many more chapters there will be. I think the last time I spoke of this I said 12 plus the epilogue. I've decided though now to firm this up and have reverted back to 11 plus the epilogue. There are a number of reasons for this, I'll not go into here but it doesn't necessarily mean I am cutting back on content. It just makes more sense in my head right now.

So the final chapters are: Chapter 10 (No more secrets) this will cover the 2nd year of studies up to the Christmas break. Chapter 11 (Finishing Uni), covering the rest of year 2 and the final year at Finch Green. And the Epilogue, covering the time after the pair hopefully graduate. Chapter 10 will as I said before be delivered to you in two stages. Chapter 11 may follow a similar pattern. The Epilogue should be a single update release.

So it's been very much head down busy with Best Friends recently and that will continue through to the release of the Epilogue. I will though try to get some promo work done for my next major project. I'm targeting an announce before the end of 2025 on that.
