Ragnarok (LIVE at The Museum of Comedy) VIDEO

On this sad week we release an episode that was recorded before we lost our dear comrade Wilf. They were better times, despite it all. You can hear in our voices that we were having such a blast. Thanks to all who came out to see us during this run of shows. Hope you enjoyed it and see you next time!

Talal xxx

---------------------

Alexei and Talal finish their run of live shows at the Museum of Comedy in front of a packed house!
They discuss ancient myths, improv comedy, nice Tories, David Lean and much more.

The Weeping Women Hotel is my favourite of Alexei's novels. Dara O'Brien is indeed a cunt. I remember him on twitter defending Danny Baker's monkey tweet in relation to Meghan and Harry's child. He was getting really sarcastic with anyone telling him he was wrong and that he's defending a racist, but he was adamant...until Gina Yashere tweeted him. Then suddenly it was "hi, can't really discuss this at length now as I'm cooking dinner, but I hope you're ok" Such a prick

The version I heard Mitcham threatened to commit suicide during the film. The film was an extremely long shoot, largely due to Lean's insistence on filming a real storm. That meant even with a second unit they could only work on the climax scene when there was the appropriate level of storm. Leo McKern of Rumpole of the Bailey fame playing the part of Ryan was also put out at the glacial pace of production saying he didn't go into acting to play chess. That all said the final result of the storm scene really is spectacular and that really is Leo on the end of a rope risking his life and being swept about by crashing waves...

Apparently, David Lean telephoned Robert Mitchum to ask him to be in Ryan’s Daughter and Mitchum said ‘I would do it but I plan to commit suicide.’ Lean replied ‘If you would do the film first I would be happy to pay for the funeral.’ Mitchum did the movie.
