not sure what the point of your 2 sidism ramble is. We are 2 years into a genocide and deliberately caused famine where Israel has broken every international law and invented new depraved war crimes. Hamas evolved in the 80s initially facilitated by Israel in its divide and rule strategy. The settler colonial state, Occupation, dispossession and ethnic cleansing goes back more than 77 years. There is no equivalent between hamas and genocidal pyscopathic Israel. Hamas fight Israeli Occupation Force soldiers, they don't even fire on medivac helicopters, observe the rules of war and international law. Also there are other several resistance wings in Palestine. Read good sources like Understanding Hamas And Why That Matters Helena Cobban and Rami G. Khouri rather than Google searches

2025-08-13 23:09:13 +0000 UTCRe genocidal Israelis. For balance I think I should point out the Hamas charter (although to be fair it was written a long time ago) is equally explicitly genocidal. Indeed, I read an interesting article postulating the theory that both sides were involved in "genocidal mirroring" - that is seeing the other as such an existential threat that the only solution is the final one. The difference is, of course, that the IDF has the technology to make such twisted dreams reality. It would be nice if all oppressors threw up rational counter movements but this is rarely the case. One of the interesting things I find about Hamas is they were started by a quadriplegic guy. Ahmed Yassin was a complicated character. On the one hand he was rather dictatorial, on the other wheelchair access in Gaza was excellent. Seriously though, his views mellowed somewhat over the years but eventually he was assassinated by Israel in response to another terrorist attack ... It's odd how many people who've been involved in peace processes are assassinated. From Rabin to Arafat who died amongst peculiar claims he'd been poisoned with Polonium 210... I'm not sure the point of this ramble but it's interesting to give some of these people a Google. Might make an interesting angle to examine them as people...

2025-08-09 07:14:28 +0000 UTCHere's what I'd like from an Alexei topical show : 3 times a week on Twitch at 8pm. An obvious co-host would be Nish Kumar since he's got so much experience of presenting a topical comedy programme, but I'll keep thinking of who my dream co-presenters would be.
