Tutorial Note: 2 Light Sources

The note i wrote in the picture, if it's not obvious and clear enough, please let me know, i'm more than willing to share or explain if you want to get to know more.

So basically... normally 2 light sources is enough for sculpture a character, BUT you have to make sure, only one of them should be stronger than any other light source. Because if 2 light sources are in the same level, you will confuse either yourself or the audience, the lighting work will be a waste of time.

Like i said in the note, mostly, rim/ edge light should be stronger enough. Rim light is to emphasize the edge such as thickness of a character... so in this case for example, you know i really give him a big belly because that rim light tells you how thick his belly really is.. :P

And to not get yourself confused, the shadow work goes with the top light this time. I mean, don't make another shadow that goes with the rim light, or you will be confused easily. We have to play it carefully when it comes to lighting with more than one light source.

Hopefully my tip helps, if you still have any question, please leave a comment or send me a pm, i'll answer your question. I mean, i'm really not sure if i made this all clear.. i tried to. :(
