Let me make it clear once again. I'm not a teacher, i simply just share what i've observed from art books, nature and everything else.
I think i've told you the importance of doing lighting study before making an art piece not just for once. So normally, during the day scene, the background will be lit, you can barely see the any detail in strong light, so that you will focus on the front objects. The night scene however, normally the background will be extreme dark, and you light up the front, so you can see details in front objects more easily.
If you are familiar with this already, let's take a look at the color.
Color can be tricky, one same color can show different value in different ambience. Colors will be easily affected by ambient color. So you have to be extremely sure what your ambient color is in the art piece you're making. You are the artist, so everything is under your control. You have to convince the viewer what colors might have been looked like in your art work.
In the night scene, every color will be cool tone, unless they are illuminated under warm light, such as red or yellow. Normally, red color is the least affected color in night scene, and yellow is the most visible color. Green is the easiest one to be affected by the ambient color, so this is why most people think green is the hardest color to work in your art. You have to make sure it's a warm green or cold green, depending on the ambience.
Certainly there're a lot more lore in coloring. >< I'm still trying to explore more, if there's still something that i'm not making it clear, please let me know or simply leave a comment, i'm willing to answer and share any tip as far as it's my not over my head. x.x
Thanks for reading. I'll be appreciative if you have some feedbacks, let me know if there's any problem. ^^
