I'm used to making the gap first and then brighten where the light comes from the window and then do the highlights. Hope it's understandable.

ah well in my opinion, i think if i give too much line work for background, it may steal the attention from characters. Oh no problem, i do hope it helps. :)

2020-09-16 20:00:24 +0000 UTCHoooo this one is realy helpfull for me ! So it's hiw you shading and draw wood it's interesting I still had sole difficulty to found a good render when I draw wood. Me I do the wood's line in for give sole relief but I do a lineart when it's in BG... but you you never use lineart for do your BG I still was impressee by the render you got in each you do. So next time I do a Bg I'll try to practice with your method to do lineart only on a character in main plan ^^. Thanks Ben this page Wip is very helpfull for me , I'll become better glad to you !
