It has something to do with "Journey to West."
Zhu Bajie, the pig character from the story, his name"Bajie" means there are 8 things that he can't do or 8 different food he can't eat. And his title was "Marshal Canopy".
So you can guess, maybe a pig character runs this restaurant and he happens to be Sonny's best friend and Sonny invests his restaurant for good reasons.

Also it's only a suspision but do Sonny's proposition is part of Benjay found back his prestige under his father's eyes ? In any case this story remind me a real one than is part of japan's legend : An emperor in japan boot out his son, asking him to proud his valor. The sone came in a city without law and full of criminal and success to submit them all, a part of them became his "vassaux", at the end the son obtain from his father resoect and also a tittle and became the daymo of the city where he have interact. This story still have pleas me and Benjay's story remind me it hehe ^^
