Alright here's a tutorial for the tricky piles of hands. If you have questions about the technique, please let me know. I'm hoping to explain better.
Just remember this. Richard Schmid once said:
Painters don't see more information than other people do; they actually see less.
But also.. If everything is clear in the pic.. then all is unclear.
As you can see, i actually had two main layers for the hands. One is darker part and the other one is lighter. You have to put attention on the lighter part which defines the outline of the hands more.
The second step, making the base layer of the hands, and adding the lighter layer of the fourth step.
The fourth step is actually important, where you define the final color what you want for the arms. Once you've made your decision, you change the color for the base layer of the hands. And then shade them. Make them look more complicated, and the work can be done.
