you misheard Finnicks speech about Snow. he drinks the poison together with his victims, but he uses an antidote. that antidote neutralizes the poison, but sometimes it had side effects, damaging his mouth. the bleeding is not from him dying, its just the permanent tissue damage done by the antidote.
