I disliked Gear 5 at first, for being too silly. After a while I felt it fits Lufy perfectly though - and now that Toon World aspect/reference made me actually like it :D

2025-06-26 19:03:16 +0000 UTCAnimation wise? Personally, I prefer the Kimetsu no Yaiba Upper6 fight. Or rather, I don't like the "washed" style, like at 4:30 where all the edges look all blurry. They seem to love that one in Wano, especially in Onigashima. And it's really hard to tell what's going on sometimes. There were moments where they did this in monochrome, which looked great (similar to when Luffy punched the Celestial back in Shabondy). But otherwise I don't think it's cool, but rather overused and looking kinda, well, sloppy. At least to me. In comparison, the Upper6 fight was as flashy, but looked way more crisp.

The lore and the characters are still amazing, but i dont get warm with the animations and the goofyness. I liked it in the manga, so it could just be the sound effects, i dont know
