2025-02-12 00:41:52 +0000 UTCKanjuro is an odd one, because he doesn't really have his own individul story that we really get a focus on inthe present. Kinemon is our first encounter and introduction and we get his bond and responsibility for Momo back in Punk Hazard already, then in Dressrosa they find Kanjuro again but that's all we get about him. Raizo gets the whole "Raizo is safe" moment on Zou and Dogstorm and Catviper have their falling out and friendship broken story. Kiku is a bit of our guide in early Wano, Ashura has the story of actually having to suffer the 20 years directly in Wano that the others skipped, Kawamatsu has the bond with Hiyori and Onimaru and being locked in prison. So for each of them we get a bit of a different personal perspective on these 20 years or their role in skipping them and how they effected them differently, but Kanjuro is just kind of +1 that is found again in Dressrosa without us really getting his perspective. Talking purely about current state, no spoilers obviously.

2025-02-11 12:51:48 +0000 UTCMy least favorite of their crew was always Kanjuro all the way back in Dressrosa, but I think it was partly because he barely did anything throughout the arc, and his design reminded me too much of Kumadori(from CP9). Though, it was a close tie between him and Ashura when he came onto the scene. XD Seeing Kanjuro cutting women's hair like that, though? SUPER CREEPY.

2025-02-11 10:35:53 +0000 UTCWhat I really like about these episodes is the pacing. Normally, the ratio is 1 episode = slightly less than 1 manga chapter But 960-962 cover nearly 5 whole chapters. So we are going way faster through the material than before, and the flashback flows much better because of it. Especially considering how dense the flashback is, and how they could have stretched it out without much problem.
