He had his source of lust taken away, and then surrounded by other sources of lust (Elinalise/Pursena/Linia). He would try lustful approaches and it wouldnt work. But with Fitz, as you said asexual in appearance(shorthair/glasses/cloak/gloves), he can love differently.

2024-12-03 04:36:37 +0000 UTCOk, now i can explain something i wanted to explain since a while. The author believe that love is lust and emotionnal love both being separated. When the story starts, rudy is 100% lust and he drops in a world where nobody limit him. Azuran nobles are freaky (Paul, Lilia, Eris family, Ariel, Luke, etc) So shit happens. Next, Rudy is with Ruijerd wich has way higher morals and limits forced into him. At the end of S1, the author removes everything to Rudy to remove him his sourcfe of lust and instead brings a agender/asexual character for Rudy to fall in love but this time with only emotionnal love. ( In the book, it's about this time we, readers, understand that sylphie = Fitz)
