2024-10-11 23:15:39 +0000 UTCso in the light novels kirito destroying the weapon was explained a lot better. basically in game terms he made use of an exploit he knew about to be able to completely destroy the weapon when he is not normally supposed to be able to do that. so yes. he cheated lol.
