2024-09-20 14:39:45 +0000 UTCI think the show is mostly underrated, because it's not a plot driven shonen, but rather focuses a lot on exploring different characters and how they came to be who they are and how they perceive the world they live in. Like Yukine struggles with his death and what that means for him in the future or Yato's desire to have his own shrine will be further explained in later episodes and so on. The show takes a lot of time to develope other characters too, not just the three mains, especially in season 2. The action is not really the main point most of the time. I like that about Noragami a lot, but those are not exactly qualities that the masses search for in an anime I would imagine. Also there's a lot going on in the manga later on that never got animated, maybe Noragami would've become more popular over time, if they would've added a season or two to the anime. But I heard rumors recently, that there'll be a season 3 sometime in the future, which I hope is true. By the way, if you decide to watch season 2, you should definitely watch both OVAs before starting it, they are important for the main plot in season 2.
