Okay, while that one is possibly one of my Top 5 favourite moments in one piece now; the Jimbei plan and that shot at [42:23] is quite sick, too. So many peak moments this arc!

And I thinkl this is the first time they really talked things out. Not just with a few shouts and flashbacks.

It's like his mother's legacy still And I really love the symbolism of rain in this one It started when Sanji beat the shit out of Luffy and then tried to become the sacrifice. So many things have happened during the rain, the main one is obviously Pudding's betrayal that absolutely deveastated Sanji and made him even more confused. Thank god that his sister talked to him and gave him a bit of courage to go and see Luffy, and of course thank god for the guy that tried to eat Luffy's meat (major pause) He basically forced Sanji to go lol And it ended when Sanji finally deciede what HE really wants to do with himself, not others. And the sun showed up immediately, so beautiful

We know why Sanji did what he did but we can't deny that the confrontation with Luffy, with Sanji verbally and phisically assaulting his captain was hard to witness for her and she was left with a half dead captain and a mix of anger, disappointment and sorrow. And expecially because of Arlong Park and Enies Lobby, Nami probably thought that Sanji should have known that the crew would rather suffer together then let one of them suffer alone. Said that even is forgiveness is not istantaneous for her, we already saw her call him Sanji-kun again and expressing her joy to have him back "at all costs".

2024-08-29 12:45:20 +0000 UTCI love the moments between Luffy and Sanji here so much, with Luffy finally getting Sanji to be honest (as he was able to do with Nami and Robin), and responding to Sanji's wants to save his awful blood-family with a "That's just who you are." It's so precious. X3 I think the only part I disliked about these episodes, is when Nami tells Sanji she'll never forgive him for scaring her... When she, Robin, and Usopp have done the same thing towards Luffy and all had been forgiven very easily. =/ Nami is just so mean here. XD

If you follow the subtitles it's mostly a "love letter" to Sanji rather than from Sanji. It's essentially the message of: I'm so glad we met and went on an adventure together, and I know you are struggeling, but no matter where you are don't give up, don't fight alone. We'll be there for you and we are your hope and we'll make sure to adventure again together towards our goals.

2024-08-29 08:38:19 +0000 UTC"Well, that's just who you are" is one of THE most perfect Luffy lines ever after everything that happened earlier in the arc. The one other time Sanji was vulnerable and honest this arc was when he told Pudding everything and eventually proposed as that's the only thing he had left to help everyone else at least and she then turns around and laughs about it and calls him a failure for it because she considers it weak. And here Luffy is in a moment where Sanji feels he's being unreasonable and almost selfish in voicing that he still wants to save people he owes nothing to, and Luffy just smiles at him and goes essentially "I know, that's why I wanted you". Sanji being loved for the actual person he is and always has been when the usual response of his family and now also Pudding was always rejection, is just why Luffy is the best. He's such a ray of hope, you have to love him.
