2024-05-17 23:22:28 +0000 UTCRemember Shion's Yomigaeri team are capable of coming back from the dead. They were the ones resurrected by Rimuru. ..... The little girl, I am pretty sure she was the girl whom Shion protected back in Season 2. They gave the battle individual characters where they just described the battle in general in the novel. That was a nice addition. ..... It wasn't a coincidence that Rimuru had those four with him. Last episode he planned who was going to fight who, and those guys were in the room because they knew they were potentially going to transport to the battle location. ...... Part of the build up was arranging the timing of events to happen simultaneously. ...... Strings being pulled everywhere. Without a lot of that meeting content, I am not sure we could see that. Slime is more about multiple factors and actions leading to other actions, than just deciding to fight a war to solve everything. It's really hard to describe what the author's intentions are overall, but some things I could say include, how does Rimuru develop, not just as an OP character with magic and battle ability, but also his mindset, and his accomplishments. The question of why is Rimuru so capable, and why he is so unusual is brought forward. They ask, what the ideal society, and how does one govern it, even down to a level of detail few Isekai ever attempt, both within Tempest and within human lands. We are beginning to see the outlines of alignments at a higher level than before. I never saw world-building be so like the real world in a light novel at least. And there are still a lot of mysteries. The future is hard to predict, nothing ever seems to happen straightforwardly, and according to plan or expectations.
