2024-04-28 10:06:48 +0000 UTCI'm always sad when I watch reactors react to this masterpiece arc cause let's be honest , the anime butchered it ! Dressrosa is easily in my top 5 arcs in the manga , but in anime it's barely watchable , the pace is horrible. I didn't remember the pain to see Luffy vs fake Doffy for so many episodes ! At that time , the anime studio was in a weird position : they didn't want to make filler arcs anymore cause doing filler arcs in One Piece is really hard , since Oda has so many mysteries in his world , it's really easy to make mistakes about something and waste a reveal or write bullshit. So they adapted only the canon parts , but of course they were catching up to the manga way too fast , so they made the worse possible decision : slow down the pace of the canon story and that ended up being the dressrosa arc. It's way better since that. They decided to stop filler arcs but occasionally we have filler episodes or special , and they decided to do breaks when they're too close to the manga

2024-04-28 08:30:22 +0000 UTCIf I remember correctly, in the manga the fight with the doffy double is completely offscreen, and we only witness Luffy breaking through the ground. So yeah, everytime we have cut to the lower level of the palace, that was just the anime stalling for time.

2024-04-27 17:28:05 +0000 UTCI used to think I don't like the song of 21 but eventually realized I actually love most of the song except for the specific part it is named after, which is what I used to associate it with. Because whenever I heard a different part of that opening I always went, "uh I actually love this one, but forgot about it" and then was surprised it's "that one" when it gets to the part.

2024-04-27 14:52:21 +0000 UTCFor the post-openings, I'm kinda mixed on a lot 'cause I'm not a huge fan of the songs used even on the ones I find visually appealing. 15 has some visual moments I really like, but not big on the song... but I love 16 for the first half with the Strawhats just doing domestic shit, and the song is pretty nice. 17 is just fanservice but 18 is decent. 19 has some great visuals but also large dips nor am I super crazy about the song used, 20's song is way better but visually... kinda mixed. XD And I *really* don't like 21. 22 is another mixed one for me, 'cause visually it's good but the song... 23 and 24 are solid, though 25 is prob my favorite. And 26, visually I LOVE IT, but again.. not a fan of the dang song. XD

2024-04-27 12:23:25 +0000 UTCFavorite post-ts opening is still coming and is 20, it's actually one I recommend watching with the english subtitles at some point when it becomes relevant. It's sort of a very different type of opening for One Piece and really needs the context of the arc for the why I like it so much, so just as a tease for now. And then the very current one is also way up there overall.
