honestly, when I read this in the LN, I thought it was rather lenient. They are basically allowing a nation to continue to exist in exchange for 1/5 of a single year's budget. If spread out over a period of time the ratio would decrease proportionally. It's obviously not a small amount of money but Falmuth is a huge and rich nation

2024-04-09 01:53:55 +0000 UTCjust an interesting bit of trivia: in the LN it was stated that the 10,000 Stellar Gold Coins they demanded as the reparations is equivalent to about 20% of the nation of Falmuth's yearly tax revenue. In the real world, total tax revenue for the US in 2023 was about $4.5 trillion. Meaning it would be like another country requesting about $900 billion from the US. (I am American so I put it in these terms, you can do the calculation for your own country and currency)
