To give a rough idea of the diffence in power between the Archdemon Orthos and Noir, an Archdemon is one that has lived for about 100 years. As a Primordial, Noir has lived since the creation of the Universe.

2024-12-13 20:11:59 +0000 UTCWhat? No guys, we saw at the beginning Kuro was summoned by the girl in the Silver Wings to get revenge on the being that defeated them. We later find out, that the being that defeated them was the archdemon Orthos. Kuro was never the bad guy. The request that the kingdom put out to defeat a resurrected demon was NOT about Kuro. They did not even know Kuro was there or who he was. The request was about the fake demon that Orthos sealed. The champion Orthos sealing a demon is all a fake story by the Kingdom. The purpose of the story is to give Orthos power and keep control over the kingdom. As Shizu said, this kingdom was "run by demons" until Kuro killed them all. Since Orthos WAS THE DEMON the entire time, there are no demon's remains under the castle. Everything the kingdom said was a lie. The request to the adventurers, the story about Orthos, everything. Kuro was NOT trying to resurrect himself. He was simply accomplishing the task he was summoned for because it "gave him something to do." But along the way he discovered Shizu's mask and was VERY interested in it because it defied time. So he kept track of Shizu and the mask and that is how he discovered Rimuru. Before anyone complains that this is a spoiler somehow, no. All of this was shown in the episode.

Those of us who watched it when it was airing weren't advised to avoid it, and it just made us more excited for what was to come.

2023-11-16 15:54:27 +0000 UTCPeople are really excited for season 2, for good reason, but I say watch the OVA's. First 2 are fanservice, maybe you can watch that and Slime Diaries at the same time. OVA's 3-5 are about the kids, takes place just before Season 2; many watch them in one sitting. Has some interesting info. I also recommend Veldora's Journal episodes, we get some character development and other POV's to the events of the season, but it is basically a recap. You should maybe watch it on your own. The second Journal comes after Season 2 Part 1 and is more enlightening than the first one. The first 5 or so minutes of Ep. 24.9 is interesting, serves as an intro to Season 2, but the rest is pure recap.
