Legend of Korra S4 Episode 13 (Finale)

Wow...this is really it huh? Thank you everyone who has supported us on this journey (Let us know when you started) it's been such a blessing seeing the same names pop up weekly on videos giving insight but also enjoying the reactions, thank you all❤️
This finale was beautiful for Korra and solidified this show as one of the best things we've watched on the channel

I loved your LoK reactions so much that I subscribed to the channel just to access the full length reactions :) I too think that (aside from the second season) LoK is actually better than ATLA. The character arcs and character writing is just so good, and the over-arching plot and the villains are also extremely well written. If you guys are looking for western animation similar to LoK, I can recommend the 2018 reboot 'She-Ra and the Princesses of Power'. Don't get hung up on the name of this show - it is actually quite mature and the character writing is brilliant - with character arcs that are even better than the ones in LoK. Other aspects like music and voice acting are also superb, the only aspect that is slightly lacking is the animation quality, but the show more than makes up for that in every other aspect. The She-Ra reboot is essentially what LoK would've been if the writers of LoK were told they would get four full seasons right from the start. Its that good.

Thank you so much for the kindness 🙏🏼

Prez Rokosz

Exactlyyyy Korra is her and Aang is himself, they’re meant to be different in different times and separate struggles

Prez Rokosz

I think the question of when you watch it plays a big role on the enjoyment of both shows

Prez Rokosz

That’s awesome to hear!🙌🏼

Prez Rokosz

It’s been a pleasure and that live action is looking pretty solid ngl

Prez Rokosz

Can't even begin to explain how much i enjoyed watching your entire journey with Avatar. You guys caught details and themes i never noticed before. You ABSOLUTELY need to read the comics on your own time before new Avatar content is released. The ones after ATLA explaining how they created Republic City and more team Avatar adventures. We got the live action coming in 2024, and movie in 2025!

Sammy K

im just waiting for the "peak" guy

Paul

I’m glad you guys have the same opinion as me. I think Korra as a character is the best in both the series right on par with Zuko, amazing characters with amazing character writing. I 100% believe Korra is a better show overall then ATLA. Also a lot of people WERE sexist because the protagonist was female when the series came out, they only wanted aang and were against Korra from the beginning and had an extremely tough launch all the way to the end where people hated the ending so much because of Asami and Korra getting together even though it showed so little the fan base of ATLA was extremely Strong toxicity to the show and homophobic towards the Korra, Asami ending.

Charlie Reeves

Damn. I tell you what, I enjoyed Korra’s show so much more re-watching it again with you guys. Seriously that was awesome!

The Strawhatbranz

If Avatar is a 10, I give Korra 8. Both shows are great. Personally I think the highs of Korra are better than ATLA (aside from atla finale). Avatar's character writing is just top tier though.

Devin e

Aweeee 🥲 what a ride :)

Jonathan Montero

yeah it is. I used to really like the show, but last 2 seasons were wack.

Devin e

So glad you guys enjoyed the series so much. I agree with 100% of the afterword you guys put in. I first watched ATLA after I graduated college in 2010. It was cool. Very good. It was enough to get me hyped about Korra when that was announced. But when I watched Korra, ATLA became the silver medal. The adult issues, the parallels to modern day problems, Korra's traumas, developing deep relationships of all types...TLOK just came out swinging for the adult audience. I'd be willing to wager that the majority of Korra nay-sayers grew up with ATLA. I did not. There was no nostalgia coloring my thoughts. Korra is an amazing protag, and seasons 3 and 4 are some of the best writing Nickelodeon's ever put out, comparable to season 3 of ATLA. Like others here, I highly recommend the Korra comics when you get some time. (I also recommend the ATLA comics, but this video isn't an ATLA reaction.)

Adam Lee

I really don't get the korra hate. so I am a HUGE ATLA fanboy and fucking loved TLOK (your reactions was my first time watching it actually). Sure it was not ATLA, but why does it have to be? it's a different show. and imo, even though some things are worse, it did many things BETTER than ATLA (even though personally I prefer aang and the gang but that might be nostalgia)

SirSkyRage

you two were my favorite reactors from this show, thank you for the great memories. It was a ride relieving one of my favorite shows through a different lens

Gianni

My only complaint about LOK is the lack of screen time that Asami gets. I'm so glad you guys enjoy/love this series as much as i do!

Surreal

Atla deals with an overarching story the whole time (aang defeating the fire lord and ending the war) whereas Korra deals with a different story each season so overall as a complete show I would say atla is objectively better as we all know korra isn’t perfect and definitely gets rough in places but in saying in I have no problem people saying korras better I might even agree as the last 2 seasons especially are just so damn good

Jake Dodd

Great reaction, but I am sad it’s over too :( this show is incredible, so is ATLA, and so glad you saw how awesome Korra is! Can’t wait for more ATLA content to come!

Stephanie Hundley

I think most of the hate towards LOK was because people came in wanting more ATLA, which it clearly wasn't. That said, I do think that it was amplified because she was a girl, but not consciously. It's easier to criticize female characters than male characters, especially when the female lead is on a show intended to both boys and girls, not just girls. I will admit that I even thought things like "she's just a Mary Sue," which she clearly isn't. On Korra being a better protagonist, I have to agree. To be more specific, I think she's a more realistic protagonist. None of us can imagine being a 12 y/o monk who loses his entire culture and is thrust into a 100 y/o war. It's a lot easier to imagine living a fully sheltered childhood only to be pushed into huge responsibilities and facing challenges that you expected to be a lot easier. We also saw a lot of the emotional fall-out with Korra, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Natalie

It’s been a pleasure. Just so you know, this finale aired online first. So thankfully we didn’t have commercial breaks (that I remember anyway.) You should definitely read the comics, for both shows, even if you only read them for yourselves.

K

Thank you for giving Korra a chance, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. And fully agreed on some of the closing thoughts. Korra is one of my favourite main characters of all time, and I love her developement and journey so much. Also, having a bisexual lead was absolutely not normal in 2014, and as a bi teenager back then, it was really cool seeing it, even if it was obviously fought harshly to be included at all.

Jongoe

Had a great time on this entire journey with you both and I loved each and every reaction. Currently there aren’t any shows you are watching that I would watch but I will still continue to support you guys because I loveeee your honest opinions and because I’m waiting for Eighty-Six to become a main series 😜 have a great year guys!

Kayla LaRae

Thanks for the support Jake!

Prez Rokosz

When that netflix series drops you KNOW we'll be there

Prez Rokosz

Season 2 was risky and not all of it was worth it, but leaving the past avatars behind imo was actually a great but super risky move

Prez Rokosz

I’m so glad I found you guys and got to re-experience ATLA and LoK. I’ve been in a 13 week remote immersive program stuck at my computer for 11 hours a day 6 days a week and every time I’d see an upload I’d be in a lecture or planning meeting so excited to see your reaction. Can’t wait for Invincible! Would you guys ever consider doing shorter 12-24 episode anime series like Madoka Magika or Shin Sekai Yori?

CD

Been here for a few weeks never really active in the comments but had to drop one for the Finale as it’s how found you guys, great reaction for a great finale, sad it’s over but happy it happened🙃

Jake Dodd

Man what a journey it was. Shit was truly fire from ATLA to the end of LOK, can’t help but admit that for me Korra was the better protagonist and the side characters had far more weight and god damn were they loveable. Let’s hope for some more Avatar universe shows and movies to come out soon cuz I can not fkn wait.

Echoes_III

Glad you guys appreciated Korra, she's an incredible character and TLOK is an incredible show. Check out the comics, begrudgingly watch the ATLA live action. Now you get to wait for the netflix adaption and Avatar Studios content with the rest of us that this universe means so much to.

Zachery Love

So much love and appreciation to both of you gents! I subbed because of your reactions to ATLA as I got to re-live one of my favorite shows again and it's like watching it with friends who gets excited and giddy and frustrated but at the end fell in love with this universe. Can't wait for your reactions when the live action comes out in Netflix.

ralphe

Korra is so powerful she bent energy equivalent to that of a nuclear bomb, and created a spirit portal. If I were Kuvira I'd stand down too lol. Great reactions throughout this series!!!! If you need more Korra check out the comics. Especially if you wan Kuvira's backstory

Jeron Edwards

Gotta wait until fall 2025 for new content in the Avatar universe. It’s a long wait but just glad that there’s new stuff coming, including the next Avatar after Korra. 😎

Patrick RL

Korra was introduced to us as a cocky prodigy and the whole series was about humbling her so yeah, it does feel like the beginning of her journey now because with her innate physical strengths now combined with a more solid mental fortitude, she could be unstoppable.

Joey Marshall

I’m so happy that you guys watched and genuinely enjoyed this show! I watched all of ATLA and LOK back in the day as it premiered from 2005-2014, so it’s always exciting to see new people appreciate it. I’ve always loved LOK and it hurts when people don’t give it the time of day. So seeing you two actively engage with and appreciate the depth and storytelling of Korra was a pleasure. (Also remember that there are the comics for both ATLA and LOK! They’re also great and deal with everything from Zuko’s mom, to Azula, to Kuvira, to Zhu Li and Korrasami and so on!)

Katie Barnes

“Korra wasn’t perfect and that’s what made her great” This ride from the last air bender all the way to the legend of korra has been awesome. Super glad y’all enjoyed it and looking forward to the next journey!

rougezapato

Appologies for the long comment. In my opinion, the hate that Korra had was never because she was a female character, maybe some people had issues with that but not really me. I think most people had issues with Korra because of season 2. Season 2 had that entire amnesia thing, the destruction of the entire previous avatars, the slaughter of Mako's character, and the fact that Korra regressed and did stupid shit at the beginning. Furthermore, a lot of complaints were the fact that the story was kind of repetitive. if you look through all the seasons it all followed the same beat, now there's nothing wrong with that as that's how the hero's journey is written but they didn't really try to change anything or innovate. But the biggest reason why people complain about Korra simply is unlike you guys who got to watch the entire thing a lot of us watched Korra on TV waiting weeks for the next episode or seeing reruns of the same episode. eventually, people just kept getting pissed at all the issues and labeled it worse than Aang. Even though there were some really good moments in it.

Kirito Otonashi

The end of an era. Loved rewatching this show after so many years and now have developed a newfound appreciation for it. Can't wait for Invincible 🤙🤙

bigdiam

as you saw at the end of Korra the series that was shown for what Netflix suggested next is called The Dragon Prince. Correct me if I'm wrong but they were written by the same writers as Avatar and the main character voice actor is someone you miss.

Kirito Otonashi

Loved watching this show again alongside you two. Looking forward to whatever shows you guys watch next.
